Extreme Makeover: Home Edition In Mineola, Texas

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is in Mineola, Texas. Across the street from my Pastor's house. They will be using their electricity some. One of my sons will be working as a volunteer electrician Saturday night. We are so excited, and it couldn't happen to a nicer family. Bill Engvall will be the celebrity volunteer. My Pastor's wife is taking photos, I will ask her if I can share them here.

Excited for you! Thank you for respecting you pastor's wife and asking if you can share photos. :thumbsup

My oldest sister said that if you are in a group picture, the rights no longer belong to you. LOL! I told her I wished our family would stop acting like the paparazzi when we get together. Good grief! How many pictures do you need to take? I never bring a camera! LOL!

And if you're in a one-person picture, the rights don't belong to you! It's the photographer who owns the copyright. Now, he or she may need permission of the subject(s) to use the photo in certain ways, but that's different. And complicated.

That's what my oldest sister said - the photographer owns the copyright and she, being the photographer in this case, DOESN'T have to ask permission. LOL! I told her that I thought the photographer needs permission. Now she isn't talking to me. LOL! Oh well, that would not be the first time! LOL!

Okay, sorry about the hijack, Cindy!

they did one of those not too far from my place, unbelievable how it works which is great in states where there are no taxes . but by the time this state gets done with them they will have a payment, only it will be strictly property tax every month, to the tune of 600 probably [it had a view of the ocean not too far away]

I'd pay $600 a month for one of their homes with an ocean view!!

Is your computer missing the "Shift" key? I'll be glad to help you buy one if you need it.

As a general rule, she would need permission (with signed releases) to use a photo commercially, of anyone in it that is recognizable. Crowd scenes, e.g., are not a problem, except any individuals detailed enough to identify.

If it's not for commercial use (magazines, catalogs, etc.), it would be a courtesy to ask permission to post them on the web (non-commercially), e.g. Some people might get nervous about their picture being seen by 6 billion people. ;)

I agree! I told her that if Sandra Bullock demands to see any photos before being published, then I do to! She doesn't understand!! :toofunny

I have a sister that manages a printing company. She is taking random pictures while we were at the park! I had grabbed a jacket that was too big for me, navy (my worst color) and I didn't get to preview the photo! Well, she puts the picture on a family calender and gives them all out! I said, "You did that on purpose!" She started laughing!!! :thwak

They don't need permission to show it, but they do need permission from you in the form of a model release to use it for commercial purposes.

Edit: I see other people have written the same thing - that's what I get for not reading the thread first :)
