4 reasons for Tampa

1) Experience the UPCI body worshiping together to experience and be a part of the "Global Impact". The messages will be powerful and for the first time I will be able to experience it first hand..Exciting!

2) Retain Bro. Haney - I think he is an outstanding leader and casts great vision.

3) TV Resolution - Not quite got my mind made up on this one yet.....Wobble back and forth.....

4) Experience Tampa - Should be neat to see some of the area......

More later.....

MO Preacher......

p.s. 5th reason - Give in the 5 hour offering......HA!

This will be your first UPCI GC? Wow! It should be a great 1st time experience for you, what with all the hubbub about the television resolution.

1) GC services are really great. Nothing like having thousands of people worshipping together all around you.

2) Bro. Haney has been good for the organization, but I wonder if it's taken a toll on him. I've heard he may well bow out and not allow his name to run. (Don't quote me on it, it's yet unverified and therefore just a lousy rumor!) *grin*

3)TV Resolution - why sit ye on the barbed wire fence? Know ye not that it hurts!? Seriously, it's a resolution to ~allow~ ads to be run on tv. No one will be forced to participate. Just vote yes, even if you're personally against it. Why force people to follow your standards. (by writing "you're" and "your" I don't mean you literally . . . just those who are against it.)

4)Experience Tampa - never been there! But I'm hoping to go there this year. Too bad it wasn't in Miami!

5) 5 hr offering - yah, you won't be laughing as your hindquarters gets sore from sitting through that entire process.

"Will someone give $1 million?" "Anyone?"

I usually leave until they get to my amount a couple hours later . . .

"If you can give a dollar! . . ."

:lol

Why I may go to GC in Tampa

1. To see my good friends.
2. To eat with my good friends.
3. To have fun with my good friends.
4. To watch the 5hr offering on the monitors in the halls while fellowshipping with my good friends.
5. To give a play by play of the businsess meeting to my good friends on AFF.
6. To hear a couple of my good friends preach.

:D

One reason for Tampa might be that GC is a much needed vacation for alot of stressed out saints. It might be nice to be out in the beautiful sunshine and nice weather for a change especially if you live in a very wintery area.
I love Tampa. Its super nice and a great climate.Florida is a great place to unwind and get some sun.You might even thaw out before returning home rested and excited and fired up.I am going to one of the sectional rallys that
to prepare for altar work etc.I think its neat for those who are or aren't attending. We could all use some fresh annointing.

My MIL used go to that church. I have been there a couple of times, and even spoke briefly once. They seemed like nice people. Weren't they in Ocala?

The Krogers store here sells Cosmo and has it at the checkout but a while back they modified the rack so that the only part of the cover that is visible is the top where the title is. I guess enough folks were offended by the cover pictures and/or subjects listed on the cover.

You're right! It was Bellview. If I remember, though, that is near Ocala, right? My MIL actually worked in the office, I believe for just a little while. I do remember that they wanted her to remove her wedding ring. That WASN'T going to happen. That would not have set too well with her unsaved husband. She didn't want to cause any difficulty, so she didn't work in the office any more.

I trust you are kidding? The UPC General Conference has always been a meeting for the general constituancy of the UPCI.

They do have business meetings that are only for licensed ministers but that is only part of the conference.

As a matter of fact the GC is listed as a religous observance offiically by the UPC so UPC kids can get excused absences from their schools to attend with their parents.

Yup. I always have to quote the by-laws and threaten to sue my wife so she will grant permission of release for my home schooled children.:preach :lol
