It's not leaving the Ac. 2:38 message that causes these things. You should be aware that there are those who are fully Ac. 2:38....speaking in tongues and shockamoo and all and yet embrace the homosexual lifestyle.

I think it's an abomination, but the Ac. 2:38 message has nothing to do with it, leaving Jesus Christ and the immutability of His word does.

I think Thad may be saying: the truth = UPC. Since she left "the truth," aka the UPC, this is where it's led.

:thumbsup

There is a family member of someone that I know that is gay and he has started attending this church. I had just heard last week that it is "gay-confirming" and it just made me sick to my stomach. Donny preached for us several years ago and did a really good job. But I had heard that Reba had recently preached at an openly gay conference, so I'm not surprised by this too much.

Trouvere 04-25-2007 05:32 PM

I don't think its wrong to preach at an openly gay conference if you are willing to be like Paul when he stood on Mars Hill and preached the unknown
God.It may be that conviction would fall.If even one sinner repented than it would be worth it but to encourage a sinful lifestyle is wrong and we would have God to answer to for that.A person would have to be strong in their convictions and not care what the looks on their faces were like.I think though it would probably cause a riot.lol

The problem in this is..........she doesn't think it's wrong, according to what I've heard. She is endorsing it as a part of the Christian culture.

Sister Alvear 04-25-2007 05:37 PM

So heartbreaking...

That is so sad to hear.

Esther 04-25-2007 05:40 PM

WOW!

Look where deception will send you.

Truly sad.

To have known the truth and now being in total deception.

What do you sell your soul for? OR what is it worth to you?

This is where leaving the principles of Christ lead to...that crowd she hangs out with...the TBN crowd...I never hear them preach against sin or a need for repentance. It's always an ego centric message about what God can do for you, like He is indebted to us

There was a pun that was intended!

That song is in the song book and it's credited to her

Probably so; however this quote was on their website.

The River began evolving into a rainbow of all people and all cultures. Men, women, boys, and girls began blossoming in their individual gifts. While not for everyone, The River became exactly the church that many in Nashville had been searching for.

This is not a total indictment; but it sure infers their "openess" toward the gay lifestyle.

Especially, with the chosen word "rainbow"......

Decidedly non-religious in our format and philosophy, we celebrate the freedom that flows from each person’s unique relationship with the Father. We perpetuate the Gospel of Good News…God loves us, He has an awesome plan for our lives, and we can walk in His power and passion toward all humanity.
Pastors Dony and Reba McGuire share inspirational, relevant messages that propel the listeners into their ultimate purpose and destiny. We invite you to come take a cool refreshing drink of life-giving water at The River.

When folks leave the Bible this happens cause you don't have to be UPC to be saved.
Homosexuality will always be wrong.
