Crystal Bowersox

By a million miles, my favorite this year is Crystal Bowersox. To me, there's a huge gap between her and anyone else.

Who does she play for? What position?

I completely agree!!!! (for once) :D

I think Aaron Kelly has potential--he has a nice quality to his voice. Tonight was my first night to watch, so I may have missed some good performances by the others.

I really wasn't impressed with anyone else. Not blown away, anyway.

Oh come on, you agree with me nearly all the time, but you can't admit it because you have a reputation to uphold! :lol

A couple of judges tonight said that it wasn't her best performance, and they were right. She's been amazing and although tonight wasn't her best, she was still the best.

100% toally agree!

She has a certain something that the others don't have......she's kind of like a modern day Janis Joplin, at least with the soulfulness with which she sings.

I agree, miles ahead of anyone else this year, in my opinion.

She doesn't seem to be horribly star-struck, doesn't seem to be trying to be something she's not, not trying to impress anyone, and I love that. She's just herself. And last night the clips of her dad talking....that stole my heart. I like people like that. They just are who they are.

She is definitely the best. I also like Siobhan, or whatever her name is, just because she's different.

Totally agreed.

I agree that she has the best raw talent. I liked Lilly better though and it was such a disappointment to me for her to leave.

Re: Crystal Bowersox

Sowerbox is the most "finished product" of the finalist. She sounds like a seasoned performer now and could put out a record tomorrow. I think she has a great voice.

I just watched last nights performances and Schlitterbahn also impressed me with her power vocals. She is a little scary as she seems much of the time like a specials needs student or someone spaced out on drugs but then she is also at times very articulate and a good performer.

I like Casey a lot also and am rooting for him because he is a Texan. His voice isn't the greatest but it is good. He just needs to work on projecting some personality.

I thought the sixteen year old boy did a great job. He usually oversings things with too many riffs but last night he was spot on.

Bolded: As the father of a "special-needs" child, I don't have a problem with that. I think it makes her endearing.

And yeah, I like Casey. I'd love to see him tear up the guitar a little more and put on a show while he does it.

Sowerbox...that's funny.

Look dog you know that's a coo song, you know the vocals are great, I was little worried it would get a little pitchy butchu dig yo thang. It was definitely hot, hot performance..and I like you. :ursofunny:ursofunny

I just couldn't resist the "dog" impression. Crystal Bowesox is really good. I really like her because she is not only an excellent singer, but she is an excellent musician. She truly understands music and she hasn't done anything that has been way out in left field. Siobhan is also a great singer, she definitely has some pipes (as we say in my family); quite the eclectic one she is, but I enjoy listening to her. As far as the males go; I really like Mike. I think the overall winner this year could be Crystal.

Was Lily the blonde with thin hair? Looked like a bad wig. Ok voice but the hair and the occasional racoon eye makeup were annoying to me.

Siobhan is great, Crystal is great and I was heartbroken when Alex got the boot (I know he was waaaaay too shy, but loved his voice)

Thanks. It was not meant to be offensive and I am glad you did not take offense at it. I admire all of you parents who have the challenge of parenting special needs children. We have a Downs Syndrome child in our extended family and I know how much effort and energy his parents give towards making his life the best it can be. They never complain and I know feel rewarded for everything they do but nevertheless they are very special people to handle all that they do.

KC, KC, Casey, Casey............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! (I think my wife and daugther feel the same way you do).

I saw in his profile they did before he sang that when he was a toddler he had a reaction to a vaccine and had a lot of seizures. The doctors told his mom he would be brain damamed but it looks like he made a fully recovery. I didn't realize how tall he was until he stood next to Ryan Seacrest. He made him look very short.

You got it! :thumbsup :roseglasses

Not only that, but when he auditioned I think they said that he had been in a really bad car/motorcycle accident a few years back, and it was thought that he would lose a lot of the function in his hands! So, it is pretty amazing he can play the way he does!

Unbelievable. I still think she's a million miles ahead of anyone else this year.

I think she is too, but I did like Lee's attitude throughout the show. He definitely was the shy underdog who came out of nowhere and rose to the top. Crystal will have a great career anyway.

America got it wrong! Crystal IS a polished performer. By far better than Lee. However, after having said that, I think that they are both class acts. Crystal will have a great career now and we'll see what Lee can do. I don't think he can pull it off, but time will tell. I was shocked at the results, but it is what it is. :D

Lee got the votes of the teen girls that thought he was cute!

Big difference between the two? Crystal doesn't NEED the title of winner of American Idol...Lee does...

Crystal can stand on her own two feet...JMHO

Re: Crystal Bowersox

I was really torn this season because I really liked Bowersox and DeWyze. Bowersox was consistent throughout the entire season, however, DeWyze wasn't. Then on the other hand DeWyze did show improvement throughout the show. I knew that DeWyze was going to win American Idol (his 'Hallelujah' performance did it for him), and was initially bummed about that. Yet, when I really think about it, I think that Bowersox is better off not having won, because of the type of artist she is; she will not be bound to all the contractual garbage DeWyze will. She is free to do her music her way (I liked Lynche too, but I think he is better off not having won as well).

William Hung dressed hip-hop was a riot...singing along with Pants on the Ground.....:toofunny

I totally agree. Crystal will excel no matter and I think it's guaranteed that she sells, at least, double the recordings of Lee. And Renda is right...the girly vote counts big!! It's what gave Kris the title last year.

You're absolutely correct. I didn't realize that was a cover. Interesting.
