Earth Hour Nonsense
I don't know who this guy is but I like what he says at CFP.
It has the rest of the article as well as a satellite pic of North Korea at night. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/21424 It’s Always “Earth Hour” in North Korea For all those Green morons calling on us to turn off our lights Saturday evening from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM to celebrate “Earth Hour”, this is what it looks like every night in North and South Korea. The North is in the grip of a Stalinist dictator and the South is a thriving democracy. Like fire, electricity is truly a gift of the gods. It is the difference between the Dark Age and the present age…but not for everyone. Much of Africa is in darkness. too. People who hate civilization and the humans who created it are welcome to live out in the wilderness or in some primitive backward country where they burn dung to cook their meals. Earth Hour, what a bunch of nonsense! Don't dither over that which God has cursed. |
Re: Earth Hour Nonsense
I don't think there's anything wrong with being a good steward of our resources, or increasing our frugality by reducing our consumption. And in my life I'm learning to live more simply anyway, so it fits. I spent the hour reading Amish Peace by lantern light. It's a book about how Christians can benefit from applying Amish principals of simplicity to their own lives.

Re: Earth Hour Nonsense
I also try to be a good steward of resources but that does not mean I have turned my brain off and am not aware of the humanist agenda to deify the earth and elevate it above man.
It also does not mean I am not aware of the junk science that promotes the idea of man made climate change. Recent events have proven many proponents of climate change (previously known as global warming until the warming stopped) are willing to outright lie and fabricate data while ignoring other data to promote their theories. I am proud to say all lights were blazing in the CC1 household last night as a protest to the eco alarmists. |

Not only did I NOT participate in Earth Hour but I burnt far more electricity then normal since I brought 16 MacBooks home from work in order to run updates on them (my net connection is 10 times faster then our schools).

Re: Earth Hour Nonsense
I didn't realize ecology was such an upsetting issue to Apostolics. We were put here to tend the garden after all. And it's really just common sense. Do you want to breathe smog and drink polluted water?

On the par when it comes to smog but one of the greatest kept secrets about NYC is its tap water that comes from the upstate resevoirs.
Seriously the best water I have ever had. http://articles.latimes.com/2009/feb.../na-tapwater25 Quote:

Thank God for the USA where I can turn on every light in the house, the washer and dryer, 3 TV's, computer and laptop, refrigator and freezer, microwave, oven and 4 burners, hot water heater, appliances and stereos, ALL AT THE SAME TIME IF NECESSARY
I have apostolic brethern in the Philippines who are living with daily brown outs, the drought has caused such a drop in the rivers and dams that the power plants cannot meet the demand. |
Re: Earth Hour Nonsense
I think there is nothing wrong, but everything right about being CONSERVATIVE in regards to our environment.
The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof. Just as my body is His Temple, the Earth is His creation and be it far from me to purposely show it disregard, disrespect or to abuse it. I have actually thought about starting a recycling drive at my church, maybe as a way of being a fundraiser for Missionaries, Home Missions, or whatever. |

The folks pushing this stuff put out such huge thermal footprints that you can see where they've been from space. How's that "helping" things out? The simple fact of the matter is this: Yes, climate change is real. It has always been real. The only thing that doesn't change about this planet is the fact that it's constantly changing. The fact that there are so many sink holes in Florida testifies to the fact that ocean levels were once much higher than they are now. In order for the sea levels to be that high there would have had to have been little or no polar ice at all. We're human beings responsible for that "global warming?" Could human being have prevented it? It's all a scam. |
Re: Earth Hour Nonsense
I too believe in being a good steward of the environment. I believe that the private sector is perfectly able to address our environmental needs, we don't need a socialist totalitarian government guiding us by force of law to care for our world. I also believe that it's a biblical imparative that Christians be mindful and deliberate in our attempt to protect the environment.

Re: Earth Hour Nonsense
Christians should lead the charge regarding stewardship of God's creation. Creation care was one of Adam's primary duties.
Also, I think we have truly complicated our lives with many things. To live simply (learning from the Amish) as one poster implied, wouldn't be all that bad. In fact, it could spiritually empower us. |
