How do they play soccer in a dress?

In high school and college, the main problem is the time required to devote to practices and games. We miss a lot of Wednesday night services.

Do I think that is a sin? No.

Do you? If you do, then stick to the backyard sports and whatnot (unless you attend a Christian school. They probably work their practices/games around Wednesday night services).

They wear the team teeshirt and skorts or culottes.

I think I played soccer in a skirt. I might have worn culottes. It's not as clear 25+ years later.

My daughter will play in jeans, though. :)

My wife has a place online she uses to order culottes. My daughter has started to like softball, so we are letting her play. two rules, must be modest and we don't miss church over it.

The girls usually do Spring and Fall soccer leagues and summer softball.

I have a 6 & 9 year old (see avatar), one plays softball, the other soccer. Both of the leagues approved our request for them to be allowed to wear a skirt. They will/do wear a loose and flowing knee length black skirt.

ALL children should be physically active, regardless of their gender. Whether that's facilitated by organized sports or frequent trips to the park is up to their parents.

I have no probelms with females doing sports, provided they dress modestly, let young people enjoy their childhoods being children. If we don't let our young people have any enjoyment, while they are young, they'll run from The Christian faith, like the plaque.

What do your girls think of wearing skirts when everyone else wears the team clothing?

it doesn't seem to bother them, and they are fitting in real well.

I haven't really gotten into exactly why they wear skirts with them, though they are approaching the age for more detailed teaching.

For the record, I don't think it would necessarily be sinful if they wore shorts/pants, but my preference is they wear a dress. Especially as they get older, the shorts worn in soccer, and especially girls softball are immodest.

I know a Brother whose daughter played basketball in high school and wore knee lenght flowing shorts, I have no problem with that.

I'm not a leagalist, but I'm of the persuasion that in our culture a dress/skirt is the most radical garment of distinction for women, and therefore should be worn when possible.

My daughters are both grown and married, but when they were younger and played sports, soccer and basketball were both played in the long knee length shorts. In softball, our teams never wore shorts. It was always the athletic softball pants.

It's not really a question unless you believe in the Pentecostal uniform.

Teach them to glorify God in all things.

In response to what Jeffrey said about letting your light shine...........I can truly say,
that sports has not hindered my daughters relationship with Christ. Only gave it strength.

She has led a many of prayers on the Softball field, and the basketball court.

She is not ashamed of the Gospel!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She also don't have a bit of Sense!! Look below for yourself.:thumbsup
