FINALLY! New MacBook Pros Released!!

I've been waiting for the updated MBP's to come out and today they did!

I pulled the trigger on the 15" 2.66ghz, 500gb HD, 4gb ram, hi-res display. I'm not giddy, but now I can ebay my 2yrs old MBP!

Nothing like a Mac! Yes, I'm one of those!!! LOL

Anyone else out there going for it? :D

the 8-9 hour battery life on the 17" is impressive, but unfortunately the same consideration that has kept me bound to windows since MS release the hunk of trash named vista... Money Money Money.

So... nope, won't be going there anytime soon...but someday I hope.

Bro. A, you just need to sell a few items on ebay and go for it. You know what they say, "Once you go Mac, you won't turn back!" to Windows that it!!! :D

It is more of a possibility now that I have learned about Adobe's crossgrade policy. Have to jump through some hoops but they only charge the standard upgrade fee instead of the whole license cost.

I know my way around Mac OS pretty good. I prefer it over windows.

I need to talk to my church about buying one, the old White Macbook Hard Drive is completely full. So we need to upgrade it, plus the graphics and video capability needs an upgrade to.

Re: FINALLY! New MacBook Pros Released!!

I have been a Mac-whacker since the mid 80's with the old 518, 8 meg ram, one internal single side floppy disk plus one external plug-in floppy and a whopping 45 meg external hard drive. As I recall, the screen was about 7 to 8 inches.

I still have and use a four year old 15 in PowerBook G4, but, when this one dies, I doubt I'll every own a another Mac. Reason is simple, I can no longer afford them. So, I have started making the transition to Windows with two IBM/HP clone creations, sharing a 19 in Dell display.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of all the aspirins for the headaches you get from Windows.

My Brother, my heart is sad! I hope this is the will of God. So many on AFF are leaving the "Old Paths" for the new ways and I feel like that is what you're doing leaving Mac. Have you prayed about it? lol :ursofunny If you haven't figured it out I'm "Mac died in the wool." Sending this message on a 17" MacBook Pro. Wish I had the money, (Lord forgive me, I've got the money, just ain't gonna send it to my Brother HaShaliach), I'd send it to you to get you a new Mac. :thumbsup God bless you. Don't quit posting even if it has to be on one of those evil PC's. :ursofunny I enjoy your posts very much! :thumbsup

As much as I am now a confessed Mac-man, set on departing from his ways, yes, I have been enticed by a son of mine. He fixed my Mac when the hard drive crashed, and then gave me a Windows system he had rebuilt (now that was the 'right' price! LOLOL).

Now I am in the process of moving my files and programs over to yet another Windows system that provides me with two hard drives and some good (for Windows) processor speed.

However, I still love (and use) my old PowerBook, even as this old mountain man limps off into the sunset - among the last of the 80's old breed.

I use a Mac Mini for work, and honestly, I feel the same about it as I do a PC. The Mac's OS is a little prettier, but you pay for that in higher prices and in a closed system. But the Macbooks do look very cool and are very stable.

It is always a bit hard to move from one system to the other no matter what those two systems are. However after a week or two I think you will come to love Windows 7 even more then you did OSx.
