Here it is...............Don't laugh to Hard!

Well I believe I got the video to down load. Finally!!!!!!!!!! If you want to
know more about this particular mis-hap, and what happened after the fall. Go
to the thread about Easter Drama Mis-haps from last year.

I believe Hoover started the thread.

Yes, that is me on the cross. It was not funny at the time...........But....

If you watch real close at John the beloved on the cross. He turns a complete
flip before he hits the floor!!!

It knocked me smooth out!!!

Ok! Stop laughing!!!

Hope you enjoy:ursofunny

Re: Here it is...............Don't laugh to Hard!

Oh God. I am SO sorry! There's this element of wanting to laugh and then a complete feeling of guilt for wanting to laugh.

Were and are you ok? My goodness. I can't imagine having put all that time into a production and then having this happen at the most crucial moment. I just feel terrible for you and the church. I guess in the end of it all, I can't laugh.

I guess the only moment that's actually funny....ironic maybe.....is listening to the moans and groans of sadness over the crucified Jesus...moans that are scripted and acted...suddenly turning to cries of "Jesus"....for real!!!

Screw-ups are part of anything but for it to happen at the crucifixion is just awful. And you were seriously knocked unconscious? I guess with your arms pinned to the cross, you had nothing with which to break your fall.

I'm SO sorry!!!

Maybe it could fall into the category of, "It wasn't funny then, but it's funny now", but I'm with you. Considering the time and effort put into a very serious production that completely imploded at the worst possible moment, and considering the physical harm that came that probably could have been much worse, it's not funny.

I know this isn't a debate on, "Is it funny......Is it not funny", but I agree with you.

:thumbsupThis was back in 06'. Yes I am OK. Shoulders were sore for awhile. My right one still bothers me a little.

Yes it happened at a "Crucial" time. However, that night was a night I will never forget!!

I will try in a nutshell to tell you about it.

I had for several months being seeking God for a new direction in our life(Wife, daughter)

After the Cross fell, they carried me to the room where all the cast hangs out between
scenes.

I heard the Pastor say they were going to perform the last song. "The Power of Pentecost"!

I asked the pastor how could we have Pentecost without Christ rising again? He asked
could I do It? I said Yes!!

They were singing "My Redeemer Lives" when I came out of the tomb. I had on no
make-up, wig, etc.. Just me!!!

Keep in mind I had at the time been in the Ministry for 14 Years. But, when I came out
of the Tomb that night!!!! OMG!!! Did he ever manifest himself that night!!! People of all
denominations were on thier knees under the Presence of God!!

I knew that night what it meant to fall as Dead Men!! Spiritually I have never been
the same!

Allthough I left the UPC a few months later.....................I still feel that same Glory I felt
that night.

If not for that Presence...........After I left..............Well I might not have Survived!!

Thats another story..................

The only thing that kept the cross from falling all the way to the floor was the top of
the cross caught the back of the pew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my 9th year to play the part. We had never had anything like this to happen.

So it recovered and went well. I'm glad to hear that. I'd be so sad if all that work went to nothing. So tell me, after you filed your multi-billion lawsuit against the church, did you receive your payment in one lump sum or receiving it over a 20-year-period?:lol

I was thinking that maybe that's why you left the mothership.....because Johnny Cochran helped you get 50 million, and they threw you out!

:foottapWhen it was said and done..................I felt like I had been thrown out!!! My dad has
always had great balance in his Ministry. He always told the rest of the family, not if he
leaves, but when.

Needless to say, He is very proud of me and my brother. He is still in the UPC.

The bottom line is that I never tried to change anybody. I just made a decision on
my on.

You don't want to know my opionion on certain issues...............Don't ask!!!!!

But its all cool now. Really. They see that my main focus is and has always been
one thing..................Preach Jesus!!!!!!

And thats the bottom line.....................

:foottapCC1, Ever once in awhile when I need a good laugh...............Well I just watch this video.
Now you ask" Why is it funny"

The Guy playing John the Beloved...............Guy on the back of the cross, who turns
a flip!!!

In Slow-motion, when you watch his mouth, it looks like he is saying "OH Poop!" Except
not poop!

He later said, there is no telling what I said!

No disrespect intended. It is, what it is.

Did he cuss into a microphone when he hit his fingers like a Roman soldier probably would?

Powerup,

While my kids were little and growing up in Austin Texas at World of Pentecost / Promiseland Church they saw the same man in the church play Jesus in an incredible way in an incredible production for many years. They still say that when they get to heaven they are going to be shocked if Jesus does not look like Bill Moran since that is imbedded in their brains!

The worst we did in that Easter production was drop a flying angel. A really pretty one! Thankfully she was only shaken up and not seriously hurt. I can't remember if that happened in rehearsal or in the actual production.

:tissueCC1,

Probally the most humbling moment that I had during all those years of potraying Christ, or even regular pulpit ministry, was when a 40 Y/o ladie with Downs Syndrome, stopped
me during intermission and kneeled down in front of me, and asked me to heal her.

That was the show stopping moment in my ministry!!!! I just knelt down and wrapped
my arms around her, and cried like a big ol baby!!!

God said you need her heart....................case closed.

After that night I stopped majoring on the minors, and got down to sharing the major
stuff. The Gospel!!!!!

:blissWell, I could say that it wasn't the will of God."The famous cop out when God doesn't
heal." But, then there is the argument that it is the will of God for everyone to be healed.

I might could just quote a whole lot of scripture and try to impress you with my knowledge. Then you might read right through all that...........then again...It's Timmy

Or I could just be honest and say I really don't Know.............Then it could be because

Your hair wasn't long enough to stretch over her! j/k/ clowning with you, too.

Really sorry that the healing did not occur but don't put yourself down...put us all down. We've probably spent too much time arguing over our clothing, our long hair, makeup and how many steps it takes to get saved and let the "weightier matters" fly past us! Just thinkin'
