THE remains of Noah's Ark have been discovered 13,

THE remains of Noah's Ark have been discovered 13,000ft up a Turkish mountain, it has been claimed.

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say they have found wooden remains on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey.

They claim carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old — around the same time the ark was said to be afloat.

Re: THE remains of Noah's Ark have been discovered

Every so often there are reports of the ark being discovered.

Probably half a century ago I read about a World War 1 pilot seeing part of the ark sticking out of the ice on a mountain. Subsequent exploration discovered the ark but then with the Bolshevik revolution all further exploration was stopped.

Several years ago (don't remember how many) there was a tv special about discovering the ark. Later it was reported that it was a hoax.

I only skimmed the referenced article. I don't remember if any dates are given for when this was supposed to have happened.

I'll wait and see if anything comes of it.

How come they never drag that thing down the mountain and put it in the Smithsonian?
Or set up a Christian Theme park around it?

And where are the pictures? If they exist they are probably so grainy as to be useless. It is one thing to take fuzzy pics of a Sasquatch lumbering through the tree's but the ark (I assume anyways) is just sitting there. (The picture in the story could be someones basement)

Maybe they have. Maybe it's hidden away in a government warehouse.

There's nothing quite so enjoyable as shoveling petrified elephant dung.

So what about it, NFS, are you now completely convinced now that we have this certified, documented, undeniable discovery from "Evangelical Explorers"?

Re: THE remains of Noah's Ark have been discovered

I can't speak for this "discovery"... but one day there will be a grand discovery. One day the trumpet shall sound and the elect will be gathered together. The dead in Christ shall rise first and we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the heavens. In that hour all of our steel girdered skyscrapers and our concrete highway overpasses will sway and buckle in the hot wake of the wrath of God. The entire world will behold HIM and nothing shall be spared his indignation. The angels of heaven will be gathered together and feast on the flesh of the wicked, and their bones shall bleach white by the power of the Son’s glory. In that day all that the Bible said will be validated before a scoffing and unbelieving world. But the righteous shall shine forth as the stars of heaven.

Today the harvest of the earth is ripe. As we speak the Son of Man is upon the clouds, with his sickle in his hands - and the earth is being reaped. The obedient are being gathered by the Spirit of God into the barn. And there is an angel who also has his sickle among us. He is gathering the clusters of the wicked and unbelieving into the winepress of the wrath of God. This spiritual harvest is taking place all around us and still so many are oblivious.

These are the grand discoveries that await the human race.

Waaaaaaiiiit a minute.....I thought "Carbon Dating" was no good? I read an anti-evolution book once that invalidated carbon dating because they had carbon dated some plastic trash cans at thousands of years old. Yet they're claiming in this article they used carbon dating? I'm confused.

Ya, I thought the same thing. Morris and Humphries never listen to "humanistic" scientists until these same scientists discoveries are needed for evidence to one of THEIR own Rube Goldberg-like theories.

The SEEDS, NOW, the SEEDS! If I get my hands on some of those, I'll buy some stock in the Theme Park....:toofunny

This kind of stuff has the same tint as finding Big Foot, Nessie, or UFO's! Blurred photos, mystical maybes, and no real hands on with people like you and I.

I'm not skeptical, only careful. People will bite the "Hook" of this stuff, almost making an Idol of the "Cloth" or "Image". The story of Noah is such a bizzare tale, when anything comes out that may prove a discovery people get way too excited, squeezing every last dime out of it.

If people want a lesson on animal care and habitat, visit your local Zoo where you can see the facts, not some blurred image or a story where so much is presumed. To imagine living on this vessel for over a year, a wooden vessel that is proven today to not have been able to even float, having enough food, space for living and exercise, and manpower for maintenance is something we need to consider before arriving at a conclusion about the Ark.

Remember, the voyage was for over a year, and food and habitat were needed after the Ark rested on dry land. Also, ship builders of today state that for a man to build such a vessel out of wood, the time needed would be much longer than 100 years, plus the sea worthiness of wood could never withstand the great spans and widths while floating on the sea.

There are so many problems with this story, and whether Christians like it or not, the Facts may prove that Noah and the Ark is a myth.

And if they're lucky, they'll find some amber on board, with mosquitoes trapped in it. No telling what they could make out of the DNA in their little bellies! Ooooh, maybe ol' Noah himself got bit a few times!

Well, we can be convinced that the flood happened at least. It appears in the stories, lore and cave paintings of virtually every ancient culture going as far back as we have data. The stories differ from other cultures, but it's all the same basically -- a great flood swallowed the earth.

That the Ark is bizarre is not my problem. Heck, you and I as living human beings being formed is bizarre.

It's an interpretation of Revelation...
Revelation 19:17-18
17And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
The term "fowls" and "unclean and hateful bird" are phrases that can indicate angelic or fallen angelic beings...
Revelation 18:2
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
It's not a hill I'll die on, but in my experience I've learned that most people know very little about angels. Angels are fearsome, bestial spiritual beings. Sometimes you don't know if an angel will reveal some vision, ancient wisdom, give a heavenly command, or roar and attack like a wild animal. Also consider that biblically speaking, angelic beings around throne of God are often called "creatures" or "beasts".
