Irvin Baxter on TBN

Irvin Baxter was a guest on TBN yesterday. He has a TV show that will be starting in July. Paul ask him to send him a pilot to possibly have it aired on TBN.

I loved it when Baxter told Paul that following Christ was not all about blessings, but about sacrifice. It can be seen on TBN.org

Re: Irvin Baxter on TBN

Did he make any non prediction predictions? Did he say this could be year 2 of the final 7 years?

Did he share the Acts 2:38 plan of salvation since the nature and urgency of his message would require deliverance?

He is still predicting WW III, that will kill 1/3 of mankind, and he believes Iran is the flash point. No mention of China this time, but he makes his points very well. He says what he believe, but he is not prophesying.

No he did not mention Acts 2:38, and unsave the others on the program. There was a prep-trib man on with him, and he was put on the defensive by EB's answers to some of Paul questions.

All in all, it was done pretty well, where you agree with all the viewpoints or not.

He did ok for the most part.

He has switched on who the anti-christ is. He says its now the 12th shia imam, their madhi rather than the ruler of the EU.

Also he said he isn't pre-trib like he was in the early days, which is the first time i've heard him admit that.

He quoted some catholic saint malachy about who the next pope is gonna be and said but didnt say thats gonna be the false prophet Peter the Roman.

But I did like it how he did a strong Jesus name prayer and said christianity was about obedience and not getting blessed... that was a nice balance to the word of faith guys on TBN you usually hear during the never ending tele-bake sale.

Bro Baxter has been offered time slots on TBN & Daystar for his TV program, "End of the Age", as a result of his interviews. Is God opening a door to reach more people... to add to the church?

Got an email/newsletter from endtime ministries. As a result of the interviews, Irving Baxter will be on TBN's church channel AND on daystar.

Good for him :)

He is a respected minister who has spent years pastoring and developing his ministry. I am happy that he is reaping the fruits of years of sacrificial work and study in his area of specialty.

Will he be preaching his interpretation of Acts 2:38 plan of salvation just as hard as he hawks his books, dvds and the Apocalypse?

Not meaning to be offensive but the spirit I feel when I read some of the
responses on here causes the fear of the LORD to come on me for some.
We may not agree with this dear brother, but it would seem it would be easier
to keep our mouths shut IF we can't say something that is not critical. That
critical spirit is not of GOD!

Blessings,
Falla39

What thread are you guys reading? I found nothing disrespectful toward IB here. Folks all seemed to agree that IB's interview went really well.

I don't watch that swishy TBN stuff, so I can't really say. In fact I'm obviously holier than all of the rest of you since my own television watching is limited strictly to the news and science programming.

Well, now I've become critical. And Sam. What a Pharisee he's become. Sam!

Standard Dispensationalism with either a mid or post Trib rapture. He was in favor of a pre Trib rapture several years ago according to many.

He has made some "predictions" - never asserting that they were absolutes, but that he was persuaded about them. He's taken a lot flak for that. Comes with the territory, I guess.

Irvin Baxter is post trib and has the verses to support his belief. He predicts world war III, killing 2 billion people according to revelation 9 where it says one third of mankind are killed. He believes the United States is represented by the eagle's wings in Daniel 7 and in Revelation. Besides that he follows the middle east peace process, the national id movement and all politics concerning one world government, one world currency and one world religion. He has a daily radio show which are archived for one week. http://www.endtime.com

Sorry but I was only responding with a facetious remark! Bro. Baxter's endtime seminars are frequently interspersed with 'apostolic doctrine'. I am hoping that he will continue this practice on his End of Age program to be aired on TBN & Daystar.

I have heard him state that he was taught pre-trib all his life but once he started his own Bible studies... he said that he could not reconcile this teaching with the scriptures.

Gloooory! :bliss

I was never taught pre-trib. I was "post -trib" before I was Apostolic. I was taught "Pan trib" :ursofunny while attending a UPC.

I was watching him on Daystar been just after he left the UPC church. They asked him to lead people that were watching in the sinners prayer. It was a funny dance around he did.

He has been post trib at least since 1984. I had a series of post trib tapes he did then.

Yes, I saw that... you could tell he was caught off guard... he stumbled a bit but still ended with a good prayer. :spit

There are no *pastors* listed with the last name Baxter. I don't know if he pastors or is full time in the endtime.

Is he still licensed with the UPC? I'm just curious. His forays into television would make him something of a trail blazer among the UPC.

He is a member of a conservative UPC a few miles from my home, I have seen him in the local Taco Bell with some of his staff not long ago, he is not pastoring. I believe he is still UPC.

I haven't heard Irvin teach that the antichrist is the 12th imam. That was Joe Van Koevering that espoused that teaching on TBN. As far as I know, Irvin still believes the antichrist comes out of Europe. Do you have any quotes that say otherwise? When or where did you hear this?

Taco Bell, huh? No wonder he believes the church must endure the Great Tribulation!

The Shia Twelfth Imam was supposedly hiding in the Al Askari mosque in Samarra, Iraq. Sunni Muslims blew up the mosque in a series of attacks to try and "prove" the Shia were wrong about their eschatology.
