Quite an array of Church conduct going on here. I don't think you see this much anymore. |

Re: Watch the Baptistry
I...really don't know what to say. I'm tempted to call it a spoof, especially since the singer is laughing, but who knows?
Did the guy jump into the baptistry, or did he fall in? |
Re: Watch the Baptistry
I loved when the one guy threw his coat on the man with the mic!

Actually, looks like a jump, to me, and not even a faked fall.

maybe that was a sinner anxious to get baptized and get those sins washed off RIGHT NOW!!!! or, maybe it was someone who wanted to get rebaptized and the pastor had advised him against it so he thought this was his chance possibly the coat over the guys head was so he wouldn't see the guy getting rebaptized or, maybe his clothes were on fire and he was desperate or, maybe the line to the restroom was too long and he had had an accident and didn't want anyone to know it so he jumped into the baptistery to hide the evidence or, |

Re: Watch the Baptistry
This is a prime picture at how some pentecostal just go stupid in worship. I mean stupid too because I seriously doubt that if the singer sang that with a lower voice and not screaming that people wouldn't be rolling around and going stupid. It is entertaining....gymnastics for Jesus is about all that I can call this. Not sure it is real worship anymore than I know that it is fake because I really don't know the hearts of the people. I think it is hilarious when the guy swinging the coat almost smacks a guy in the face that is sitting down only to then throw it and it hit the singer in the head. Unfortunately I have been in services like these and they are more folly than Holy, IMO.

Re: Watch the Baptistry
Man the only thing that I could really understand the singer say is "IT WILL BE MINE!" and I am fluent in 'Country Grammar'. I took it all my life and I have a Master's Degree is 'Country Grammar' with a minor in 'Hick Talk'.

Maybe he drowned. Maybe he's too embarrassed to show his face and will try to wait underwater and out of sight until every one leaves and then sneak out. |
Re: Watch the Baptistry
This reminds me of a funny story that TL Craft tells.
A 12 year old trouble maker in the church came up to the alter and got the Holy Ghost one Sunday night. He wanted to be baptized right away, so Bro. Craft motioned to one of the assistant pastors to take the kid in back to change clothes, etc. The kid changed clothes real fast while the assistant was taking his time. The kid leaves the room by himself goes over to the baptistery and does a cannon ball into the water. He immediately does a handstand where only his feet could be seen sticking out of the water. Bro. Craft turns around when people started pointing and thought the kid was drowning! Bro. Craft runs to the baptistery and dives in suit and all to save the kid! Needless to say, Bro. Craft was very angry with that kid for a long time after that! haha! |

If that happened in our church, I have no doubt that our pastor would issue an immediate and public reprimand. |
Re: Watch the Baptistry
The late Jamie Buckingham told a story about mid service Sunday baptism. The plan was for him to step down into the baptistry and baptize the candidate and then get out and continue on with the service after the choir sang. Well, he had on waders and the water was deeper than anticipated. The water filled the waders and he was unable to get out of the tank. His whole congregation saw him climb out of his waders and crawl out of the baptistery in his underwear so he could go on with the service.

I prophesy NOW is gonna come in here with a straight face and beat me down for laughing, but the comedy is built into this one. Some people in the video, including the singer, was bustin at the seams.
