IMO, bashing is when things take a personal turn, are unnecessarily malicious or vicious, and especially making statements that aren't needed to make the point, but are only intended to be hurtful.

Being blunt doesn't necessarily constitute "bashing."

Bashing, IMO, is when you are intentionally wanting to criticize and hurt another person or group.

Saying "you sir are an idiot" is bashing.

Saying "Were you born that way or do you work at it?" not bashing however it wont be taken well...

Saying Bless your little heart is probably bashing but they wont know it...

Is it really bashing if the person to whom it is addressed doesn't understand what you're saying? :thumbsup

Doesn't it have to do with party hopping? :ursofunny

Bashing is a harsh, gratuitous, predjudicial attack on a person, group or subject. It is used to imply a sense of uncompromising vehemence and bigotry about the assailant.

WIKIPEDIA

The term applies to two different types of attack: physical assault and verbal or critical assault. In the latter case, bashing is used metaphorically to indicate an attack on a subject that is of similar aggressiveness and motivation to the physical case. Topics which attract bashing tend to be personally sensitive topics for the bashers, the victims or both. They also tend to be highly partisan issues. Common areas include religion, nationality, sexuality, politics and topics of critical appraisal within fandom.

Another of your typically moronic liberal posts, Jeffery? Did you have to go to Wikipedia because you had completely run out of ideas of your own? Another thoroughly droll and pedantic post by you; utterly devoid of reasoning and thought.
