haha

Its sad how the conversation ended. With a putdown... typical of the con approach... even when I use the Pentecostal Herald and UGST papers to back my point. I am told I have a submission problem and she hoped I didnt feel like my time at IBC was a waste.

That's why there is no point in debating anything... better to hang out in the fellowship hall and drink coffee. Their belief trumps any facts, and it is hard to have a debate when facts aren't allowed.

LOL! Yeah, but I know what would happen if I put something in my status update like that...

I'd have 1/3 of my friends list wondering why another 1/3 of my friends list was suddenly foaming at the mouth about the definition of a greek word.... and the other 1/3 fighting with the others.

I'm to the point I don't post anything controversial and usually just complain about random, innocuous things.

The pastors from www.lifechurch.tv which is the 5th largest church are most likely totally confused by it :)

I have gotten to be friends with their satellite church down in Palm Beach county/Wellington .. they run about 600. Heck, when I visited one week while in the area they started a church service about life after death with Blue Oyster Cults "Don't Fear the Reaper" ... compared to that I am a lightweight.

this is creepy...i live in WI. but my family has a home in Wellington...and when we go there(usually in the winter time) I attend that very church. I was there the week before that series started and they played that song....it was pretty funny. it is a small world afterall.

We sat in the same service most likely.

I was there that day for both services, they were teaching me how they setup and broke down as a portable church.

Awesome worship experience, eh?

Me and my family really enjoy it. i also liked like their low key approach to communion & showing the baptisms during offering.

Debates need to be held here and at other forums..... Facebook is pretty much centered around Mafia Wars and Farmville. And because of its public nature I pretty stay away from any controversy, other then "liking" a few political things.

I always wonder how many folks look at a discussion like that, agree 100% with the mod/lib side and wouldn't say anything in public with their name next to it in a million years.

No because like so many others, far too much of her self esteem and self worth are linked to her hair. She, nor most humans for that matter, would easily let that go.

I'd actually already seen this in part on facebook...but I've now matched another AFF user ID to a facebook "real name" :bliss

LOL

I really should send out a mass mailing on facebook saying "I know I must know you from AFF, but who are you??"

A dog is easy: No touch, no talk, no eye contact. Rules, boundaries and limitations, etc.....

A parrot is not quite as easy because they (like some people) fixate on certain things where that "thing" is truth to them because so much self worth is tied up in it.

A woman who has always been led to believe that she is a 2nd class citizen will naturally gravitate to a teaching that says she has POWER (even more then a mans) over angels, no matter how asinine it is. She will spit, click her nails, and become extremely defense if told otherwise (and who can blame her?). Likewise my cockatiel will spit and hiss when I try to take his mirror (with the pretty bird in it) away from him.
