Packing Party Today
Today we had a packing party for the eleven of us who are leaving for Kenya in eight days! We had piles of school supplies and medical supplies, as well as lots of toothbrushes and toothpaste (which is VERY heavy, BTW). We also have snacks that we got at Sam's and little baggies that we will divide them up into to hand out in the elementary schools.
We will be visiting several elementary and secondary schools, as well as eleven church services at least. We will also be doing a huge youth rally on Saturday of that week. The team is very excited, and I'm so proud of them. They've all been praying and fasting and seeking God for this trip. Please pray for travel protection, and that we would all remain healthy. I've never led a trip like this, so it's kind of a big responsibility for me. The most we've ever had before was just four of us. We leave June 13th and return home on the 25th. Eddie will be staying at home, as he just didn't feel like he could leave with all that's going on here. |

God bless you and keep you all safe. May He use you in ways you never thought possible. :)

Stay safe Sherri. May God bless all your endeavors.
My B-I-L Phillip Nordstrom is in Kenya now, for missions work. He left last week - not sure what his return date is. |

How long is your trip planned for?

I love Kenya! I already have all the places picked out where we'll eat and do the touristy type stuff. The ministry schedule is left up to our Bishop there, and I won't really know until we get there what all that involves. That's really hard for me, because I am a very "scheduled" type of person! But in Africa, you just learn to go with the flow. |

Re: Packing Party Today
Well, the prayer team prayed over our Kenya group today in the 11 AM service. It was powerful; I really feel like God is going to do some amazing things while we're there - especially in us. It's always such a humbling and emotional experience, and you just cannot come home the same way you went.
We are taking four men with us, who are all either pastors now or have been at some point. They will do most of the speaking. I will speak a little bit in Swahili, but that's limited. The Kenyans do seem to appreciate it though. The others are all women, and everyone will do a little upfront speaking, but mostly the women will be doing the one-on-one ministry stuff. Then I need prayer after we come home. I will be teaching our teen summer interns (24 of them) about missions. Teaching is not my forte', but I promised I would do it. I just want to get the passion across to them, so they start going NOW and not wait until they're in their forties like I did. |

When I saw the title I thought (for a moment) you meant Packer "G" Party. "I'm up for that!" was my response, but then I see you meant "packING". :(
