Paul Morton, Marvin Winans.... What a preacher!!!

I listened to Bishop Paul Morton preach and my oh my it was incredible. (this probably would fit on another thread but I wouldn't know where)

Anyway, it was at the Azusa Conference and there was lots of great preaching going on. anyway, Paul Morton, a baptist, was preaching to the church that you 've gotta have the HolyGhost. may not be much to some of you but, the most of the baptist don't believe you have to have the HolyGhost to be saved... Anyway, it was great. I'm telling you, there is something different about that guy!

In the same conference, I heard Marvin Winans preach! He preached Jesus, that's it and that's all! The man can preach.... I know some of ya won't listen to them because they aren't of the same church as you, but it's some good , good preachin'!

Was I correct in hearing that Marvin Winans was PAW? I heard that somewhere but wasn't sure....

marvin is 4th generation COGIC. I went and heard him at West Angeles COGIC during the Azusa Celebration centennial i was also there the night Paul morton preached.

Marvin is no longer affiliated with COGIC and in fact joined bishop Norman wagner's church in youngs town OH. before starting his church. Wager is PAW in fact he was the presiding Bishop for 8 years. under his teaching he did adopt a more apostolic doctrinal approach HOWEVER, Marvin;s church in Detriot is not what i would call totally "apostolic'. It's sort of a hybrid of COGIC & Apostolic.

Bishop Paul morton is preaching for the PAW Natl convention this year. vicki is the guest singer

It's really hard to pin him down. to be honest i think he tries to appease both sides. his family is steeped in COGIC the roots run very Deep. I think Marvin's Grandfather was the first to start COGIC churches in Detroit which is one of their Major Hubs. Then on the other hand he preached Acts 238 at another conference. someone gave me the copy of the tape.
I think he might baptize in JN but I don't think it's mandatory like we believe.
paul morton is trinatarian im sure you realize

NOPE about the PAW being Apostate and the spirit of delusion taking it over having Trinitarians preaching their meetings.

i was surprised to see him at GE Patterson's funeral. i guess that was okay but he was on the very front row in a gown that was fit for a cardinal in catholic church. I am very uncomfortable with all that regalia

That's sort of like TD Jakes, right? I mean, he claims oneness, but isn't adament about it.

One of the greatest called the Prince of Preachers but Golder in his declining years fellowshipped Trinitarians by that I mean had them preach for him. They lost their way.

LadyChocolate - Many of us do not use the terminology that you are posting about. If you would question me of my Theological stand - YOU would say - He is "Oneness" - but I refuse the label. If you would ask Bishop Jakes and just about anyone else that is not in the mainstream "Oneness" movement - they would NOT tell you they were "Oneness". I am NOT a trinitarian and neither is Bishop Jakes - I know exactly what I believe - and all that know me - know I can preach a doctrinal message on the Revelation of Jesus Christ (which is what the "Oneness" movement had as its foundation and what I continue to stand for and believe.) I have baptized thousands in the Name of Jesus Christ around the world - but REFUSE to be labeled as "JESUS ONLY" or "Oneness".
The sad thing to me is - this UPC Bible School -educated in the system - generation - is "Oneness" but has never seen or embraced "The Revelation of Jesus Christ." They simply KNOW the revelation as head knowledge - but really do NOT know who Jesus is.

For me to say I am "Oneness" puts me in the same depressing camp as a neighboring pastor who is so arrogant, mean as a snake and extremely unfriendly and ugly to people. My postings may seem like I am the same - but I can promise you - I am not - I am very passionate when I write - and some have taken it for arrogance or that I "HATE" the UPC and Apostolic brethren. This is FAR from the truth. Every single best friend I have - men I spend time with weekly and talk to daily - all have Apostolic roots, but we refuse to be labeled "Oneness".
To tell you the truth - to me - the word (not the foundation of it) is just redundant and stupid.
"Oneness" carries SO MUCH baggage with it - Like the preacher that spit on the Haymon girl in Colorado, or the UPC in Georgia that preaches against Mickey Mouse watches, colored lip gloss and having and "A" on your ball cap - but has nothing on its rule books about drinking alcohol or tobacco.
It also encompasses David Terrell, Anthony Mangun, Noel Jones, Teklemarian, Kenneth Phillips, TF Tenny, Vaughn Morton, Wade Bass, Norman Wagner, Lee Stoneking, Ex-Boxer George Foreman, the UPC group in California that preaches against over head projectors, radio, and sound tracts (I was there and heard it with my own ears) and Bishop Johnson's split and splinter CULTIC groups in Philadelphia that preach that everyone except them are going to hell. They all claim to be "oneness".

I love COOPER as much as Elder Epley - Thad as much as Steadfast - but I don't know that I would want to be grouped in with any of them to say - now THAT IS EXACTLY what I am!

Why on earth do we need these extra Biblical labels to describe who we are?
I know so many on here are SO PROUD they are ONENESS! But what on earth KIND of Oneness are you?
OK - grab your guns! LOL

I understand what you are saying.... but I don't lump all oneness men into the same category. In fact, I understand more of what you are saying than I care to reveal on this forum. But there is a separation to me. But I'm not being mean spirited about how or where i put people. Oneness doesn't carry alot of baggage to me. BUT, I know men who i don't want to be associated with. I left a place that hurt many many people and no, they weren't upc. In fact, this upc church has been a healing place for me and believe it or not, they don't have the standards I have lived and still do...even though they don't. But I have found that these people here do have the love of Christ in them and that goes alot farther than how long your skirts have to be. I've seen the mean spirited and many of my friends, along with myself, have wounds that are taking a time to heal...but I can't put all preachers together because for every one bad oneness preacher, there are many others that have the love of Christ.! I wasn't trying to yank your chain, AtlantaBishop.
I'm still very conservative, but a lot more tolerant, i guess. Many would say I've gone liberal, but the liberals would still call me an ultra con. Any more, I don't care what people think of me... I do my best to please God and that's all I care about.....is pleasing God....

Lol!!! I've become mad over some of the stuff I put up with over the years, but God has a way of working things out. I was so self righteous and only the oneness brethren who believed like I did were going to be saved. Now, I still hold to a lot of my teaching....But somethings are just plain stupid. I mean, my parents attend a upc church and we didn't. Just from what was preached acrossed the pulpit about the upc, my children thought my parents were lost..... how sad! And except for the grace of God, I was one of those self righteous folks. Thank God for deliverance! lol...

I have heard the message by Bishop Morton from the Azusa stuff. It was awesome. When he was talking about the axe head as someone was saying before. He asked a question to the people there and they went crazy. He parralelled losing the axe head to losing the fire, not the HG, but the fire. He asked, "where did you lose it?" What made you lose it? Was it that girl? Was it that problem? What was it?

What a message this man preached. This type of message is why the PAW and others are letting people of the other denomonations preach at their conferences. This is a message that if Epley preached verbatim than his church would think he is smart...:hypercoffee could not resist that Epley. HAHA.

I was at that service and it was really alive in that place.
Their delivery and style is what im use to at my home church. So many UPCers find this type of service shocking and sometimes appalling BTW

i might try to get down there for the southern california jurisdiction COGIC
for their Summer convocation. they have it at West Angeles and it's similar to that.

Ya see the one they do not care about it what people think. UPCers do because they have tried to shed the bad rap for years. In this they have made themselves look worse at times. Also they have tried to become more user friendly and quieter. Not every service has to be like that. Infact most services do not have to be that way, but those type are fun, exciting and they provide blessings. I think that shouting is not where God delivers us, esactly, but the delivery causes our shout. Just like he said in the message, where did we lose it? Those type of messages and services are just plain awesome!

Amazing how we will promote a 'preacher' who is not even saved, but love to bash others who are. Amazing and shocking at the same time.

No one is promoting him other than saying it was an awesome service. Bro. Price have you watched that service? You need to. It is on streamingfatih.com and it is awesome. But again by the way you do not determine who is saved or not. He is a part of a different denomination, but he has repented and obviously received the HG. I am not sure about the baptism formula, but no one can say that he was not ever baptized in Jesus name, except him and the guy that baptized him. GOD determines the salvation of the people on earth, not Bro. Price. That attitude is what give the u.cons the bad rap.

Infact most services do not have to be that way, but those type are fun, exciting and they provide blessings. I think that shouting is not where God delivers us, esactly, but the delivery causes our shout. Just like he said in the message, where did we lose it? Those type of messages and services are just plain awesome!

YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT ON THAT !
