Forward Conference 2010

Well, I just got back from Jentezen Franklin's Forward Conference 2010...one word...incredible. Our young people will never be the same. Some of the speakers included Steve Furtick, Reggie Dabbs, Christine Caine, of course Jentezen Franklin, and Judah Smith.

Judah Smith and Christine Caine were two of my favorites...they were just incredible. I know Judah has a podcast and I'm pretty sure you can find Christine on there too.

Free Chapel church is one amazing church. I could not get over how all their youth are their guest services team...free lemonade when you got out under the awning, they have a full fledged restaurant in that church!!! Wowzers...I got lost...literally.

But the greatest thing for me was meeting Jentezen himself! It was awesome...we talked for a little while...I will post pics later!!

So, I recommend Forward...just sayin' :)

Free Chapel is our home church and we are there most of the time when I am not out ministering. My Son, his wife and my daughter were part of the FORWARD volunteers and were indoor greeters - checking the badges.
My wife and I did not go to FC yesterday as we knew the crowds would be huge. We drive an hour to be there. We are so ready for them to enlarge the sanctuary. It seats 3300 but will be enlarged to seat a little over 6000. We need the room!
We are glad you enjoyed it! Come again. Wednesday nights are just as good as Sundays or check out Free Chapel Orange County, CA. Pastor Franklin preaches at 9 & 11 AM in Gainesville, GA then flies to Orange County, CA and preaches @ 4 & 6. He is usually back for Wednesday evening Prayer & Bible Study.
I am looking forward to the pics. My nephew Ryan Leaman was there too and they so enjoyed it.

Oh Atlanta Bishop, I wish you guys would have been there!!! That would have been cool! I probably saw your family this past weekend! LOL

Yesterday was CRAZY!!! It was so full that people were sitting down the aisles on the floor!!! I could not believe it!

We have loved Jentezen since 2003, so it was quite an honor to go to his church! It is definitely a great working machine so to speak! I loved everything about it! His message was good too! I didn't realize ya'll were getting ready to enlarge! That will be a great blessing! I know he did say yesterday that ya'll are debt free! That in itself is incredible!

The Orange County group was there yesterday, but they weren't in service. They were too busy checking out Kidpak!! LOL

I will try to post it! I am so computer illiterate! LOL

A special hug to you too! I thought about you a lot this weekend Sis. Alvear! The offerings were going to missions - the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, and then human trafficking...it was almost unbearable to watch the videos about it....

I'm pretty sure Judah's church baptizes in Jesus' name. It's in Seattle.

Yes, he does if I read his website right. They actually are very similar to you all and to us. I just really enjoyed his teaching/preaching. And if you listen to one of his podcasts, he preaches like 45 to 55 minutes! lol...I just really liked him...alot.

Christine was really good too...I really enjoyed her testimony and her raw approach to teaching/preaching! She was really anointed.

When Pastor Franklin baptizes - He says, "I now baptize you in the Name of the Father, The Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost."

compromise IMO

I've got more respect for someone who just baptizes in the titles than one who tries to make everyone happy.

Why a compromise? Is it because you view "the name" as a single expression? Or because you feel Father, Son & Holy Spirit have one official Name - "Jesus"?

Personally I don't see the compromise, but then I even as a Oneness person do not see the name of our heavenly Father as being the Son "Jesus".

I believe it to be undeniable that scripture is giving us the authority to baptize and we baptize in the name of, under the authority of God Almighty. However one says that, or if nothing is said at all, it is the act of baptism that is significant, not the recited words as someone is plunged.

I say, "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; In Jesus' Name", and I do it that way to call upon the fulness of the authority of God, not to make everyone happy.

I followed Jentezen's Tweets about it. He would Tweet things like 'the first youth pastor to make it to the left side of the stage with forward written backward on your forehead wins a valuable prize. They were funny!

One thing is for sure that if I live in the Southeast and not the Southwest I would be going to The Forward Conference every year! Jentezen is one of my favs!

You compromising son of a gun. You know if I were to baptize anyone it would be "....In the name Father, the Son of our God the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost our Comforter. May you walk in the Power of the HG all the days of your life" or some similar variation.

I look at it following Matthew 28:19 and Acts 2:38 to the letter.

Considering the numbers of OPs that are made unhappy by such verbiage, I can't imagine that anyone does this "compromise" solely to make anyone else "happy."

I just dunk folks and then "speak in the Hebrew tongue" for three hours with my eyes closed. This makes no one happy and frees me from all taint of compromise.

Oh their pre-service was INCREDIBLE!!! It was funny, fun, exciting, relevant (almost too much for this old person), and really cool! They did the best of YouTube videos, we learned different dances, worship aerobics, it was always guys against the girls, it was just fun!!! I loved it! So did our kids...and it was really spiritual on top of all that! A great blend!

As for southwest, are you going to the Call this year with Lou Engle??
