UGST: Fully Accredited Graduate School

Endorsed by the Association of Theological Schools for 5 periods.

Here's there news update:

UGST is fully accredited!
Urshan Graduate School of Theology has received full accreditation from the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) for the maximum initial period of five years. ATS is the premier accrediting agency for graduate theological education recognized by the U.S. Government. Its accreditation is equal to that of the secular regional accrediting associations. Some schools offer credits through a contractual arrangement with secular or trinitarian colleges that are accredited, but do not have their own accreditation. Click on heading for further explanation.

Found it odd to say "some schools offer credits through a contractual arrangement with secular or trinitarian colleges tha are accredited, but do not have their own accredition."

#1 Appears to be a swipe at other UPCI-endorsed Bible schools, but probably more of a swipe against AST, the WPF school which has promoted itself heavily as the "only accredited Apostolic school."

#2 The mention of "trinitarian schools," along with "secular" schools seems a bit awkward.

UGST ALUM ON THEIR SITE

Toby Stevens is featured. Is he still UPC?

The Journey Church of Anchorage website is quite nice. Definitely not in the mainstream culture.
http://www.thejourneyanchorage.org/history.html

Kerygma - I love the concept, look, feel. Who does Binion hang with theologically?
Great site too: http://www.kerygma.org/

Curtis Fee and New Life Christian Church. Don't know much about him.

http://www.mysanctuarycp.com/cgi-bin...30TH/floating1

Never heard of these pastors either. The pastor obtained an Mdiv from UGST (I wasn't aware they had the Mdiv program!).

Doesn't need to be blood. I think it is great news that credibility CAN happen. However, we all know that an education is ONLY what one does with it, not where it comes from, although that IS important. :D

This was already discussed at length on another thread in several posts beginning here: http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com...=30660&page=71

This is great news and congrats to all who worked so hard to bring this about.

Which it does, however TL appeared to insinuate that "the board" was slighting this matter. Folks were not.

hmmm really... I see the oh so quick jumping on this with excitement. It took how long for responses to the "official thread"? Which shows the motivation for the negative is always higher.

This is true for all of us in general, TL. Check your news programming, conference speakers, and even your own conversation in the last 48 hours. What's your dang point?

Besides, the topic got brought up in the other thread in the middle of a different conversation. It was a side-bar conversation. The responses in that thread (I encourage you to read it) were extreme support, honor and excitement about this news. Sorry to ruin your party.

You have every right to disagree. However, it's still true. If you don't use it, it is totally wasted. Education IS only worth what you do with it. Knowledge of the Word of God is ONLY as good as its application. Plenty of folks who have knowledge of the Bible and don't do anything with it regarding their lives. :D

LOL!!

I didn't disagree that education is powerful when it is used. I disagreed with the full statement, which said it "doesn't matter where it comes from."

That's because when news is "negative", there's more to say about it. Explanations and discussion about why you think it's "negative". When it's great news, there's really not much to say.

Do we really need 14 pages of people saying 'yippee'? That really wouldn't be that interesting to read. That's why 'negative' threads get more response than 'positive' ones.

Did I exclude myself? Actually once I saw it I did respond but sometimes I wouldn't but I am interested in this, so I responded.
