Get your Degree Today

Would you apply at a college that would give you life credit and write 5 papers for you bachelors and give you a PhD for writing a Thesis?

If you did would you make a big deal about your PhD?

New Testament and Early Christian Studies

Doctor of Theology

Doctoral degrees consist of a thesis only (sometimes a reading programme or doctoral examination is also required).

Re: Get your Degree Today

As with all doctoral studies at [Edited], this is a research programme, meaning that students must put together a research proposal for a doctoral thesis. If this is accepted, a promoter is assigned to guide you in conducting your research and preparing your thesis for examination.

Any idea where this college is?

Wonder who attended such a place?

Masters in Theology

On the Masters level students can enroll for one of two options: A structured Masters degree which consists of a number of prescribed papers and a short dissertation or students can opt for a Masters degree which consists of a dissertation only.

Apart from Masters degrees in Biblical Studies, New Testament Theology and Archaeology, we offer a masters degree in Christian Spirituality.

MTh (structured) 3 papers: Methodology; History; and Area of specialisation; plus dissertation of limited scope.

MTh by dissertation only.

Hmmmm Maybe the same person who holds this degree?

C'mon guys I wanna know who is going to sign up?

You could be one of the top guys around, be called a scholar parade your PhD around whenever you are questioned here on AFF. Put it in your signature line.

I have a hearing this morning, I will check in with you guys this afternoon and see how many recruits I have.

"[edit] is a distance education university; we offer no residential classes although discussion classes and tutorial classes may be held. Note however that these are not compulsory to attend and are not offered by every subject."

Check it out no class time necessary for that PhD.

I was checking out a program I may start next fall and it would require me to have 3 years worth of full time classes before starting the dissertation.

What a deal!!! I am so glad I found this place. I haven't found their tuition yet but I am sure it will be better than what I was looking at.

Oh one last thing before I depart for the morning...this school is approved by the country it is located in. With a PhD it won't matter it is not like you are transferring your credits somewhere.

This school is legit it is not a diploma mill, but I wanted to point out how different the education level is for their program v. US accredited programs.

I am getting verification but I believe you can get your PhD for less than $5,000.

I'll be the first to proclaim that those who obtain these degrees and then claim them on their resume, are complete frauds.

No, I wouldn't. I have a problem with people with little to no integrity, as well as liars, which is a sin, last time I checked. :)

So am I hearing you to say that someone who does this:

1) Has no integrity?
2) Is a Liar?
3) Is a Sinner?

I think it's funny that very few are weighing in on this. I think people are afraid of who it might be. They had no problem pouncing on Stonerking, though.

I'm not sure if lack of integrity is a sin... But lying is.

I think Baron is dangling this carrot in front of us to see how many views this topic can get... He's trying to best his SEU thread. :ursofunny

If its legit and earned under the auspices of the homeland education or gov't entity, then it's legit. It just may not be recognized in the U.S. If it's not recognized in the U.S. then I'd be very careful how used the designation. It may not be fraud saying one has it, once again, if it's legit, but it certainly is not on par with the U.S. degrees. Kind of like being a lawyer in say, England....and then trying to say that you are a lawyer in the U.S. also. :D

Re: Get your Degree Today

I'd research very carefully before paying tuition at any institution... especially one where degrees are earned non-traditionally.

Why get a degree if it's based almost solely on life experiences? Those can be listed on a resume and proven to any company with or without a degree, and may be more valuable than the degree itself.

Pragmatist 07-22-2010 12:57 PM

Re: Get your Degree Today

I would not get a degree for "life experience". IMO that is just saying "look at how smart I am."

If I were to get another degree, it would be to learn something I didn't already know and it would most likely be for a career change. I would not do it to pad my resume.

On my way home folks. Keep in mind this degree would be legit, yet I think everyone here can see that writing a single paper for a PhD is less than what you would expect. And when you use the degree to establish your authority it smacks of being deliberately miss leading.

Re: Get your Degree Today

Here is what I want people to keep in mind...

The following is the requirements for a masters:

Masters in Theology

"On the Masters level students can enroll for one of two options: A structured Masters degree which consists of a number of prescribed papers and a short dissertation or students can opt for a Masters degree which consists of a dissertation only."

http://www.unisa.ac.za/Default.asp?C...ContentID=2830

And the Doctor of Theology:

"Doctoral degrees consist of a thesis only (sometimes a reading programme or doctoral examination is also required)."

http://www.unisa.ac.za/Default.asp?C...ContentID=2831

This is the school and the degrees of David K. Bernard.

No classes, Just write two papers and... BAM!!! a Masters and a PhD.

Not that the papers for these classes are easy, but... really?

He has the mind for it why is he afraid to actually take classes at a serious theology school. In my mind his total lack of theological training renders him open to justified criticism for being unqualified to be the voice of the Oneness movement.

Re: Get your Degree Today

This is not a school that specializes in theology. They teach religion, this is a state school for crying out loud.

So the head of UGST takes no classes at the Masters or Doctorate level to earn his degrees

Think about that!!
