How about BH and PW taking a romantic vacation to Rome to visit the Vatican. Google the two names together and you will find pictures of them leaving a fancy hotel holding hands. BH is still married and PW is twice divorced. BH is in need of 2 million dollars, to continue spreeding his false gospel around the world. Is PW becoming the great whore of Revelation?

Yeah, the UPCI has its scandals, my friend. Don't they?

I am not a fan of TBN or those two, in any way, I assure you. But let's not rejoice in the failure of anyone, that we "...be not parttakers of their sins..."

Their "ministries" are more of a scandal than any rumored affair, in my opinion.

I am not rejoicing in anyone's sin. that would be aweful. sharpsticking folks around here that have made a life mission out of blasting the UPCI (which I love dearly) however, is not beyond me. I am still just a sinner saved by grace and still a work in progress!

Ive turned over a new leaf! well sorta... its new but not too different from the old one.

Which reminds me of a story.

Back in the halcion days of my youth, I was in the Navy. there was a guy that all the sudden started walking around picking things up and saying "thats not it!"

He did this day after day and got more and more agitated. eventually he went in for a phyic eval. They kept him for a long time and he did the same thing while on the nut ward.

he would walk around the grounds of the naval hospital in Portsmouth VA in his crayz gown picking up leaves and looking at the underside and exclaim "That's not it!"

this went on for several months and eventually they gave him a crazy discharge. when he went in to get the final papers, he picked them up and exclaimed THIS IS IT!

Reminds me of the time a young man came over here from Canada during the late 60s, fell in love and married a local girl he immediately was petrified that he was going to be drafted, so when he got his notice to show up for a medical and classification, he decided to pretend he was deaf. He goes in the booth where they played these notes and you would signal when you heard the first note ,he does nothing,until it was deafening.The officer waves him out, signals for him to come over to the desk and starts filling out papers ,then he says so how are you doing ? he goes fine , officer says according to this test you are stone deaf , whoops ! Bobby (not his real name ) forgot . He got his classification and immediately sprinted for the border with his new bride. LOL.True Story ! Ps he wasnt the sharpest but very funny ,he bragged one time of picking up this truck tire all alone ,he said that thing had 50 pounds of air in it.Dead serious !

If it makes you feel better, it's not the UPCI whose ideas are being primarily targeted It's the idealogy that permeates groups from Mennonite, Southern Baptist, Evangelical to even your little denim-skirt wearing UPCI.

Tends to feel more UPCI-ish, since that's what many on here are recently removed from.

If the divorce isn't final it could be due to monitary issues, which I am sure it is. That being said just that they are in Italy together holding hands doesn't mean that they are sleeping in the same room and such. But honestly I can say what does she see in him? Lawd, he ain't no spring chicken.

Having a romantic relationship with any other person before you are legally released from a former spouse is completely inappropriate, especially for a minister.

Whether it's appropriate after you are legally *unbound* is also debatable in some circumstances. :coffee2

Actually for the last 15 years or so the National Enquirer has been right on the money with most scandals it breaks. It is not the Enquirer of our youth.
They broke the John Edwards scandal and quite a few more.

I remember years ago they published a story about how that Vince Gill and Amy Grant had been seen leaving a celebrity baseball game in Nashville together. How they had sneaked around opposite sides of the parking lot then met up and left together. I remember being so mad at the time that the Enquirer would impune these two fine married people. Of course only a few months later it came out that the lights were out in the house of love and it was true that Vince and Amy were having an affair.

I never thought I would agree with anything Benny Hinn would say but in the case of this video clip I agree with what he said about Joel's appearance on Larry King. I now JO was trying to be diplomatic but on the point of whether Christ is the only way to salvation / heaven he should have proudly stood firm and said yes.

I think Joel has gotten WAY too bad of a rap for this. You know, all of us are gonna blow it if we say enough. He was in a tough spot, didn't do his best, and I think we oughta move on.

Really though, I agree with what he said....it IS God's call. All of it. Larry King was trying to trap him, and Joel didn't go for it. I don't blame him. The best answer I've ever heard when a preacher was blind-sided by this question, was given by Erwin McManus. When asked the same question, he said, "I believe everyone needs Jesus, even Christians."

I don't know, MS. If you're a minister of the Gospel, and you get thrown an answer that you study and prepare for years to answer, and one that you've already answered day-in and day-out, it's your opportunity, prime-time to point the way to Jesus.... I'll cut him slack of he messed up, but he hasn't back-tracked or indicated he messed up. He solidified his market for his new best-seller.

Maybe so. But I would venture to guess that he's engaging an audience that others can't reach. There may be value in that. Or maybe not. But I would entertain the possibility.

But ultimately? It's up to God. I agree with that.

Either Jesus is the only way to salvation or he isn't. Even though the secular media may be trying to set a trap to marginalize a Christian leader this point is not one that can be danced around. It is central to the Gospel. Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and we should firmly declare that in every situation. Not with hatred or malice of couse but with a heart of love and joy.

Joel could have referenced what Jesus said about Himself in John 14:6 and what St. Paul said in 1 Timothy 2:5. He then could have gone on to say that this is what Jesus said about Himself and what a leading Apostle who wrote most of the New Testament said. Then gone on and said that if we take them and the Bible seriously, all we can do is preach what they said and leave everyone in the hands of a merciful God-- that we cannot say who goes to heaven or hell but we have to preach what the Bible says.

Benny Hinn Admits 'Friendship' With Paula White But Tells TV Audience It's Over

Evangelist Benny Hinn recently admitted at a crusade in Oakland, Calif., to having a "friendship" with fellow minister Paula White while he's still married after a tabloid pictured them holding hands in Rome on July 13. But the well-known healing minister says the relationship is over.
"A friendship did develop," Hinn said of White in Oakland on July 30. "Hear this: No immorality whatsoever. These people out there are making it sound like we had an affair. That's a lie."

Hinn invited his daughters Natasha and Eleasha on stage in Oakland and asked the crowd to pray for him, his estranged wife, Suzanne, and their four children. He said he and his wife had problems in their marriage for years and "could no longer exist in the same house."

Hinn's wife, Suzanne, filed for divorce in February after the couple had been separated for years, but it has not been finalized.

Hinn aired segments from the Oakland crusade and made additional personal comments on his This Is Your Day program on TBN Aug. 5, the day after his 31st wedding anniversary. A ministry executive said the program will air on other networks this week, including on Daystar Friday.

Hinn told the crowd in Oakland that the Vatican made him a Patron of the Arts and invited him to visit Rome. He said patrons are asked to find donors to help maintain the Vatican's art collections, and he wanted White to become a donor.

"I let her come with me to Rome so she can donate money," Hinn said. "That was stupid on my part. And for that I do ask forgiveness."

The National Enquirer published photos in its Aug. 2 issue of Hinn walking hand-in-hand with White in Rome. The article, which released July 23, claimed the two spent three nights in a five-star hotel Hinn booked under a false name.

Hinn said in Oakland that he and White found "common ground" after she appeared on This Is Your Day in late May. White and her ex-husband, Randy, went through a public divorce in 2007. She now leads the Tampa, Fla., church they founded, Without Walls International Church, and has her own national television show called Paula Today.

He said he and White were never alone in Rome, but claims he ended his friendship with her after the tabloid report was published. "I said, 'Paula, we can't even be friends right now.'"

Hinn admitted that he contributed to the demise of his marriage by putting ministry over his family. "I was so busy in the ministry, I was so caught up with the ministry, I forgot about my family," Hinn said. "That's probably what broke the whole thing up."

He said he often preached that ministry comes first, acknowledging that he knew that teaching hurt his children. "You know what? It's wrong," he said of the teaching. "I'm here to admit I was wrong because the call of God first should touch the family. If you have no family, you can't go on anyways."

Hinn admitted he and his wife had "challenges" but said he didn't expect her to end the marriage.

"We had troubles for a long time, and I would ask her often, 'Would you ever divorce me?'" Hinn said. "She said, 'Never because I fear God too much.' She said, 'My covenant is with God, not you.' And I guess she could no longer handle it. One day she did it to my shock."

Hinn said it's painful to talk about his marital problems, noting that he and his wife were separated long before the divorce filing.

"We've had to be very quiet to protect the ministry, the work of the Lord," he said. "But sadly when you are a public person, everything you do becomes public."

"I don't care how strong you are," Hinn added. "I don't care if the anointing of God is mighty on you. Nobody wants to be alone. I don't care who you are. I am a human being just like you."

Hinn said he is "still focused on the Lord's work," adding, "I'm going to go on serving Jesus with all my being, and whatever the future holds, that's His business."
