You won't believe this!

They sent me an AARP card today...surely there has been a mistake. Don't you have to be old for that?:telephone

Ron 05-02-2007 02:43 PM

You have to be at least 50 years old.

Have no worry, dear Rhoni.

They would not have sent you a card if they did not know your age. Those people are very astute with their mailing lists.

Remember this. You are one day older than you were yesterday. Each day draws you closer to retirment, whether you want to retire or no. One day you will...voluntarily or involuntarily. They know it.

I guess I'd be more concerned about how they knew this about you and concerned about how they obtained such information.

Alright! Alright!

I know how painful it is.

Just dig you heels in and refuse to get another day older.

Do like the Chrarismatics teach. Say, "I'm not receiving it."

Excuse me?! Honeychild...sweetness, listen up...:thad

AARP is not such a bad thing!! My brother, Rob, and crazy Reg feel the same way, but I think it's neat.

I get discounts on hotel reservations and a sizable discount on my car insurance.

So, take a deep breath and give it a rethink...:hypercoffee

rgcraig 05-02-2007 03:00 PM

I don't have gray, but it's turning white!!!!

I use to have really light blonde streaks on either side of my face and now they are winter white......really weird, but it makes my hair look blonder (is that a word???).

Blonder is a word.

Think of "blond" and think what is more than "blond."

:D

You are more than welcome to join us at the Seniors Centre on Sunday Morning!!:hypercoffee

We have service at 10:00 AM!

Rico 05-02-2007 03:10 PM

50 is the new 30, so take the card, get the discounts and be glad. You've earned it.

Sherri 05-02-2007 03:11 PM

Mine came several months ago. I wanted to cry, but I actually joined. Lots of great discounts!! I even joined Eddie as an AARP spouse, even though he's not old enough to get his own. If I'm going there, he has to go too!!!!!

Oh Sherri, I just can't go there yet! Surely, the discounts aren't great enough to tell the world you are 50!!!

You'd be surprised how much money you can save by showing that card. My dad loves the discounts he gets with his. Saves him 10% at participating restaurants, motels, car rentals, etc..

Hon, you don't look any where near 50 so stop worrying about it.:girlnails

As I told Rhoni, the hotel discount was nice...don't remember now how much, but it was cool.

And with getting their car insurance, I saved about $6oo a year...not bad, eh?!

I am 55 years old and proud, mighty proud to say it, girl!!:hypercoffee
