I'm so excited! I bought..........

an electric ice cream maker today. At a garage sale! For only $5.00! It looks like brand new and has all the original paperwork with it. I've wanted an ice cream maker for a long time now, so this is a real find for me! My boys have never experienced the taste of homemade ice cream. 20 and 16 years old and never had homemade ice cream. Imagine that!

What about you? Have your kids had it? What's your favorite recipe?

ahh, ok :) Susie is doing pretty good right now. Her two oldest daughters are both away in college so she only has her youngest at home. She's keeping her head above water. And actually doing better than she has in a number of years. Can I tell her you asked about her?

Believe it or not, I don't like homemade ice cream. Eddie loves it though! I prefer good old smooth store-bought. Homemade always seems runny and gritty. Maybe I've just never had really good stuff.

It is definitely better than "store bought".

Better ingredients; no preservatives and no chemicals....I think you can taste the pure vanilla and cream flavor.
I own 2 of the newer style electric ice cream makers_________and now I can't eat any dairy/milk products. :foottap

I'll look for my recipes....if you have the instruction book they usually give you a good basic recipe.
