Life Church Houston
I recently heard that a popular UPCI evangelist has been telling saints to leave and not attend Life Church in Houston. Any insight or knowledge of this?

Re: Life Church Houston
I've seen it twice on AFF but that's all I've heard of it.

Oh my...brings back memories. I attended Life Church when it was "Life Tabernacle" (is it the same one?) Bro. Kilgore was the pastor then...ahhhh, the memories. I was still attending TBC...and so full of excitement and enthusiasm. Life Tabernacle was the "Hub" of all things apostolic in those days. Who (and why) would speak against it now? Gotten too big, maybe? (?)

I can't speak for the pastor named here, but I have seen some of the "changes" and I think that they're good and don't even involve the basics of the Apostolic message. Some people just fixate on the externals and can't see the things that are eternal. Is eternity really concerned with how you wore your hair yesterday and whether or not your shirt sleeves touched your elbows? |

No, "eternity" is much more mature than that!! Much deeper! |

Re: Life Church Houston
Well,...I have no idea how it is now (haven't been in Texas for several decades now). But Life Tabernacle had some really "hard" standards, that's for sure. In the late 60's I put some flower stickers on the back of my dark red '66 Mustang. Bro. Kilgore saw it out in the parking lot, and really gave me a "scalding" for trying to look like the hippies. I didn't know much about the hippies, but I just liked flowers. Had to strip 'em off. Your hair had to be up and perfect (for the sisters) and the hemlines and sleeves had to be just right. And you had better for SURE never miss a service,...nooosireeeee! I had very recently looked at their current website for the church,...and definitely got the impression that it was different than when I remembered it. Yeah,..Jimbo was just a little shirt-tailed kid when I knew him.
