Today's Business meeting & secret closed session

Updates here for today and tomorrow's business meeting, visit here:

http://upcigc.com/?p=591

There seems to be little controversy this year about any of the resolutions.
It would be great if someone could post them :)

The org site says:
Quote:

We will expedite the Ministers Business Sessions on Thursday and Friday mornings by electronic voting and other means, so please be on time. We will also have a special Closed Ministers Session.

Special closes meeting? Some are thinking it will be about holiness and emergents and maybe even the 'internet and TV'.

Thankfully, electronic voting is here ... this pic posted by a minister on FB thanking the Bishop for bringing it about.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1131021_n.jpg

Should lead to more accurate and quicker counts ... 'bout time. Head counts or standing can be chaotic ... there has been chaos on the floor during these votes in the past.

Had they had electronic voting last year ... ironically ... Bernard may have not been GS today ... Mooney would've had less time to mull it over ... and opt out.

Cool! Pretty good chance the number of votes cast will not exceed the number of people in the room, too!

How much did this system cost, I wonder?

Hmmm ... two links on their page for the meeting ... also it seems they will not be posting real-time but after the meeting ...

If so, this is a change from past years where it was updated while in session.

Now we'll have to make some calls.

Well, I haven't been a member of a UPC church since 1963 or 1964, and I don't even know who all (but one) of these people are. I've heard of some of the names. The one I know I first met when he was about 2 or 3 years old and he pastors a church a couple of miles from where I live. I've preached for his Dad over 40 years ago but never for him.

Awesome! HMH has an advocate on the Executive General board, now. Rev... Raymond Woodward (Canada) also makes appellations to the practices of witchcraft and the spiritual significance of uncut hair in his bible study entitled, Biblical Studies in Practical Holiness“.

http://www.capitalcommunity.ca/pdf/B...0Are%20His.pdf

He believes a woman should not dare to cast out demons without uncut hair

7. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I DO NOT FEEL CONVICTED ABOUT A CERTAIN STANDARD?
· First, you should carefully and prayerfully study the Word of God on your own, allowing it to convict you. Many
times the Holy Ghost will illuminate your understanding through the anointed preaching and teaching of God’s
Word as well. Your responsibility is to willingly submit to God’s Word as it is revealed to your spirit.

Well , that clears it right up. If you dont feel convicted to submit to a standard the read the Word until you are convicted. I got alot of reading to do . :thumbsup

You cannot be saved without submitting to your pastor! If you can’t submit to the one you have, find another one!

WOW !!! Betcha couldnt beat me to the door.

DAII you really need to let up a little bit on the UPCI. When you decide to apply to get back in, you're gonna have problems, I'm afraid! You're not just burning bridges, you're damming up the river! Just trying to share with you my "gift of concernment!" :ursofunny :bliss :toofunny j/k

By the way DAII don't you know yet what the Resolutions were. Our curiosity is eating us up. Could have been one in there by LS to forbid you to come to any of his meetings! Reckon? :toofunny

Well, there are several people in our New Testament named Jesus
and some say we should be baptized in their name.

They lease the system out on a per event basis as well. http://www.imlaudienceresponse.com/iml-in-hand/ You don't have to buy the whole set up.

The thing is, I always enjoyed the banter about gov't conspiracies and the penalties for tax evasion that came from the platform during the vote counting in the past.

THAT was an important vote. There's enough confusion and chaos in the homes of the hearing impaired without a commercial blasting away, bringing down wrath from the wife for something over which the hearing impaired have no control.
