Wikileaks

Why is Wikileaks allowed to receive stolen US government, classified property and show it to the world? Something is fishy

They claim to be a group of internationals and maintain a network of servers world wide. Maybe they are outside the law of the US? (Just a guess on my part.)

Some of their domains are blocked. But they have many domain names that don't reference WikiLeaks.

I keep thinking this could get really big... at a time when international relations are already shaky this could blow up with serious ramifications.

Right. My husband said they need to take him out once a day and beat him with a stick. He is gay and was mad at his boyfriend. I don't know what that has to do with him doing his job incorrectly. Looks like treason to me. I think they should hang him.

No game changers ... just more proof that many of us trust the public persona we as a nation put out ... but would be repulsed at the back room dealing and hypocrisy those so many revere as political idols.

Thank God for the Republican Kingdom of God ... where we can beat 'dem gays with a stick and hang them for treason as a Australian national.

Ignorance. I fear your politics more than I fear what we might find out through Wikileaks. You're the danger to freedom

The facts behind the deed is that he is a gay man who was mad at his boyfriend. That is factual news and of interest in this case. Beating and/or hanging him has nothing to do with his sexual preferences. It is because he committed treason. He is a traitor to the United States of America.

And, you make it your specialty to enact Jihad against the UPCI. I, frankly, don't see the difference between the two. Just sayin'... :D

He says that I am not Christian to want the guy to hang for treason. I say he isn't acting like a Christan by waging war on the UPCI.

I couldn't find the news report that I was reading earlier, but this might explain some of what was going on with the boy.

Quote:

Manning, who is half British and went to school in Wales, appeared to sink into depression after a relationship breakup, the Daily Telegraph said. It quoted Manning as posting he didn't "have anything left" and was "beyond frustrated."

In an apparent swipe at the Army, Manning also wrote: "Bradley Manning is not a piece of equipment," and quoted a joke about "military intelligence" being an oxymoron, the Telegraph said.

Found the article I was reading earlier.
Quote:

The documents presumably came from the same source-Private First Class Bradley Manning who was upset after a bad breakup with his boyfriend.

Well, technically, they do that for any country they receive confidential information on.

The US information just happens to grab most of the headlines.

As for how they are allowed to do this, they are outside of our jurisdiction.

Be that as it may, I truly believe the USA is the key stabilizing force in the world, and has been for nearly a century.

Him releasing documents against the US is not treason.

Now, if he were to release information that would injure the Australian government, then it might be considered treason towards Australia.

Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
He had security clearance. He is also charged with releasing a video to Wikileaks and is a suspect in the theft and release of classified information undermining the US relations and war effort with allies in the region.

The two witnesses might be hard to come up with.

Yes, but if you continue reading that article on Wikipedia, and then also read the references, you will see that it the actual offense under the penal law is defined as:

"TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 115 > § 2381
§ 2381. Treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

Since Assange does not owe allegiance towards the United States, it is not treason.

Private First Class Bradley Manning took an oath of office.

I, Bradley Manning, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

He broke faith as a soldier. He has put his fellow soldiers lives at risk, as well as, those people cooperating with the United States.

I don't really know.

In addition, between November 19, 2009 and May 27, 2010, Manning allegedly exceeded his authorized access on a Secret Internet Protocol Router network computer and acquired information from the U.S. Defense Department. The charge sheet alleges that Manning accessed over 150,000 diplomatic cables.
