A note to the snake handling churches out there. The Bible says we would TREAD upon serpents. If one gets near me... Brother... I'm gonna tread on him with the nearest stick I can find. :)

The Bible also says that one of the signs that would follow believers is "they shall take up serpents." Mark 16:18

Ahhh... I stand corrected.

I like the way Sister Alvear showed a snake they "took up" and hung him on a fence after they gave him a beat down. :)

Well, that's where there are differences of opinion among Christians.

Some Christians think we should handle snakes, handle fire, and drink poison to display our faith. Others think that there is only one example of taking up serpents in the Bible (Acts 28:1-6) and one example of ingesting poison (2 Kings 4:38-41) and therefore the Mark 16 passage refers to protection from or healing from those things.
