I haven't even finished it yet, but it gives a good explanation of what is happening with the dollar, why and what we can expect for the future. I am expecting a sales pitch for something at the end, but the video itself is very informative. I think it is worth the time to watch it, but wait until you have over an hour.

Is it all doom and gloom?

Yes. He's pitching his investment newsletter at the end. I'd be curious to know what the best way would be to confirm the information he gives.

Is something still "doom and gloom" if it is true?

Click on the video itself and it will pause.

I haven't finished the video either... but they tell you up front what it is. This is made by an investment research firm who advised their investors to get out of Bear Stearns, Fannie, Freddie, GM, General Growth Properties etc.

He has been following the financial status of these companies and foretold their collapse and even helped his investors make money by advising them to sell short and make put options on these companies.

He is now seeing the same scenario taking place in the nation as a whole. But it isn't all doom & gloom. He said that he is going to show what is going on, why he is so concerned, what he thinks will happen in the next 12 months. He will then tell us how we can act now to prepare ourselves for what is to come.

It is gloomy, but I think it is very factual.

Since he is saying in a nutshell what I have been reading about for years, I feel he is just telling it like it is. I like the way he has the information compiled. I am not intending on signing up for his newsletter, but I think the video is informative for anyone who wants to know the scenario we are in. I am hoping the picture won't be as bad as he says it could get, but no matter what, we are going to get some inflation.

I have a tendency to think that people that paint factual pictures and then tell you some ways to help yourself is not gloom and doom because you have some hope to do something.

Indeed... I'm not finished with the video yet... I'm having to catch it in pieces... but it isn't a "gloom & doom" vid at all IMO. It does paint the picture of where we are headed... and we are headed in gloomy directions.

But it has been very informative thus far.

I have no confidence in Porter Stansbury of Baltimore Md. I subscribed to his newletter. Had I followed all of his advice, I would be stone broke. As it is, I lost money by following his advice anyway.

Following his advice, I bought into stocks of home builders. I lost a good deal of money in 2008. He was suppose to advise when to get out. He did not, he kept urging his readers to get into it.

Had I followed his advice, I would have gotten into Icelandic bonds and currency around the same time. He was using his father's Ever-Bank to funnel the money of the investors. Shortly afterward, Iceland went broke, making both the Krone and their bonds worthless. Ha! I'm glad I didn't listen.

...btw, just watch this index. When the dollar falls to 72, it's all over. The dollar will totally collapse. Right now however, the dollar is strengthening. I expect this trend to continue for most of this year...or at least the first half.

If the truth is gloomy, I guess so. :)

I came across this article about Chinese yuan bonds and the World Bank. Could the yuan someday be preferred over the U.S. dollar?
