I'll give it a chance. Skeptical with Jo-Lo as an idol judge though.

They really should have had Elton John take Simon's place.

It would have revived the show.

I think I'm a bit more skeptical of Tyler. Not sure how much I'll be able to stand watching those LIPS! Ugh! :heeheehee

Enough women wouldn't mind kissing them :heeheehee

At least Tyler can sing and has shown himself to be an accomplished singer. J Lo? Not even a musical preference thing, she just flat can't sing.

That's probably true, but for me...I don't even like looking at them, couldn't stand the thought of kissing them! Blech! :vomit

Yeah, I'm all up in it! I liked Simon, even though he was so pessimistic, but I still liked him. Now, for Mr. Tyler...THAT dude is a riot!

I didn't catch the whole story, but Robbie Rosen is one I'll be following. He was the one who was in a wheelchair and fell as a young kid, I believe. Again, I didn't catch the whole story, but that brutha can SANG (intentional Texas twang)!!!

Watching right now. Man, I love this show, even without Simon and I was afraid I wouldn't, and I love Steven Tyler. Man, if I can look and act like that when I'm 62, I will be one heck of a happy camper.

I'm actually digging Steven Tyler.

Still think Elton John would have been perfect... even P. Diddy (though probably with Randy, that'd be too many "yo dawg"s)

J. Lo... verdict is still out. It's going to be hard for me to hear her give anyone singing advice.

I hate the audition weeks. Hollywood Week on is where it starts...

Maybe not the BEST part, but certainly entertaining, and you just can't miss it! :happydance

Oh, and Tyler's lips aren't as bad as I was thinking they would be. I apologize for judging him too harshly on something so superficial as that. :haloplug He seemed like a pretty nice guy.

Lots of cute kids made it thru to Hollywood. :sing

Yeah, what's up with that. Week 1 is looking like Star Search. It's gotten YOUNG!

LOL! I think I got more embarrassed than anyone when those who aren't making Hollywood try to prove themselves, even after their first attempt. But, nevertheless, last night was hilarious...

Still feel like they are missing something... should they do a 4-judge format?

Kara is missed, as well as the obvious Simon (glad to see they aren't trying to "replace" Simon by someone trying to be him). But his decisiveness is missed. These judges are feeding off each other more. That may change the longer we go.

I was actually in Nashville during Idol Week. Walking downtown, Music Row, and there were contestants EVERYWHERE! Singing in the Karaoke (sp?) Bars and even on the street. Of those I heard....sure hope they didn't give up their day jobs!

I think I can tell you what's missing.....Opinions!!! Randy was the only one. I LOVED Steven Tyler, and J-lo will work out. But they were both VERY hesitant to really express themselves and often passed it off to Randy. But I think they'll find their way.

I do NOT miss Kara. She was fingernails on a chalkboard for me. And there will never be another Simon.

But I see a problem coming....They put through FIFTY-ONE people from one location, last night!!! 51!!!! Normally, there are no more than 15-20 or so. J-lo couldn't reject anyone unless the others did, and same for Tyler.

Hopefully, they figure out how to get tough. There were several that weren't good at all that were put through.

Kara was just the eye candy the show needed... and a SUCCESSFUL song writer who was behind the scenes with many stars. I liked Kara for the show. She could also be decisive. Something lacking on the current cast.

"Eye Candy"?????? Does your wife know about this??? But man, I don't see her as eye candy, more like fingernails on a chalkboard, whiny, know-it-all, bleh.

:heeheehee

I put up with her "crush" issues too. HA.

I meant that in a very production-type way. IOW, she's attractive, and that's good for the show. HA.

I never saw her as whiny.
