Test Results

I am on pins and needles today.

My husband is getting his cancer check-up results back today. He hasn't been for a check up in over a year. I always stress over this. Prayers are appreciated.

Thanks, I have to go to work before and after (presuming the results are good) and my whole body feels knotted up.

Thank you everyone. Good news! No cancer!!

There is a problem though. He has another kidney stone that is working it's way out. He has had no pain but it showed up on the CT scan. Dr is putting him on meds to help urine flow so hopefully, it will come out very soon. Please pray it comes out on it's own with no surgery.

Thank you!

Thank you! I've seen my husband literally writhing in bed and whining in pain (with other stones) and standing there and there was nothing I could do.

Could be worse, though. Last time he had a kidney stone, he had just been diagnosed with cancer and they said there were spots on his liver and they didn't know what they were. Within an hour of leaving the dr's office, he was in major pain with the stone.

This time, the stone is already almost out of the ureter and he has had no pain so far. We are really hoping and praying that the thing just comes out with the meds.

Still the same....no stone and no pain although I think we both caught a bug from the drs office. ;) I am in bed with a hot water bottle on my chest. :(

Thank you for asking though! Pleas keep praying he passes this. I don't want to see him go through another surgery. He doesn't cope well with anesthesia.

Re: Test Results

It is possible that it could have passed and he just missed it. (he's straining his urine, I assume?). Justin passed two that way. They clearly showed up when they did the tests, but then a couple of days later, when they repeated them, the stones were gone. The doctor told us each time that either he passed them painlessly (since they were tiny ones) or else they've moved into a place where they are in "hiding" for now. Which means that eventually they could rear their ugly heads.

So it sounds like now we need to pray for both of you. :bouquet I'm praying that God will touch and heal you and that He does it quickly. Get some rest. Drink lots of liquids.

Thanks, everybody!

Margie, he has been straining it and will keep doing so. If the little thing doesn't show up, the dr wants to do another xray. We'd rather just produce the little bugger. :)

My husband has been scheduled for surgery for next Thurs. That makes me MAD!:girlytantrum Poor guy has been through enough! Anyway, he has until then to spit the thing out. I really don't want him to have to go under (again) because he does not do well with anesthesia. I know ya'll have been praying.

Margies3 02-02-2011 07:43 PM

Re: Test Results

ILG, if he's not in pain why do they need to do the surgery? just curious.

Will continue to pray.

Re: Test Results

Thank you. They said if they don't get it out, he risks systemic infection and his organs could start shutting down. The ureter is swollen a little already. I asked the same question, because it didn't make sense at first. He is drinking a lot of liquids and jumping up and down. Sheesh, I sure hope he passes this. My husband shows stress is a few different ways, one by waking up way too early, which makes him very, very tired. He woke up at 2:30 night before last and did not get back to sleep.....

Yeah, weird thing is he's had no pain this time around. I have seen him on the bed in past times though, just writhing and whining. It was awful. I think the thing is not moving because there is no pain. The urine just bypasses the stone rather than pushing it out.

Wow, sounds like it's stuck. Will pray it starts moving out.

My husband had kidney stone surgery today. All has seemed to go well so far.

Thankfully, this was NOT his anesthetist ;)
