Thad,

They did a fine job singing that song. I clicked on the Praise Break video and enjoyed watching your church shout.

Big mouths? I don't understand how you watch someone shout and not hear them shout? :ursofunny

That was what I thought while watching that video. I would imagine if not under the annointing your hand would really smart after playing for that period of time.

You prefer men with long hair?

Brother,

Newman probably was right that they were new converts. Any church that has a burden for souls will have many people in the congregation that look the same way.

I don't prefer men.

Nahum 05-07-2007 07:21 PM

Seriously, I love to see new converts up front. It's super cool.

Carpenter 05-07-2007 07:22 PM

Thad, I know this doesn't apply to you because I have seen your choir, I have seen their passion, and I have witnessed your reasonable expectations and anti-tyranical leadership.

I have heard folks (well...leadership) in the church and in the office as well call certain things "theirs"...my this and my that, and really it makes me rather nauseous. There is no vision and mission among the workers if the leader is a narcissisist who believes that people are only stepping stones to help them achieve noteriety, praise and whatever else.

Especially in the church, nothing is me or mine, it is the Lords, and not subject to be lorded over. My praise singers, my choir, my sound men, my ushers, my sunday school teachers, my ministers, my saints, my church...

...glory to God.

Why is it that the fellas up front are rarely there for more than a couple of months or so...could it be that no one is able to maintain that level of emotional intensity...that is sooo cool, so they end up learning how to be either on the moon emotionally or in the cellar...with no in between.

I pulled this out of the "How to kill a new convert manual."

:D

Any church that doesn't legislate ridiculous extra-biblical rules of men would have even more of the same...

Carpenter- Little bit fussy today, huh? .... If someone posted from this board had been singing in the choir; they would have introduced this film as "my choir."

Just as someone says "my school," or "my church." They aren't claiming ownership; merely membership.

I agree with your statement and that is why I respect the leadership @ Life Tabernacle so much. They don't preach standards instead they let the Lord deal with the individual. Furthermore, they don't discriminate against those congregants with different levels of personal convictions. It's a very nice mix of people to worship with on Sundays.

Not fussy here. Maybe this is one of those psychological triggers that people keep telling me about. :D

Please read that I did not put Thad in the same category as others in leadership who actually believe that people do not matter, people are only the means by which I can accomplish what I set out to do...and most of the time so that I can receive the noteriety (notice I didn't say glory)...or the narcissistic belief that I am do everything so that I can give Glory to the Lord and not as a collective body.

There are people like this all over the place with saints stuck to the bottom of their shoe like a piece of gum.

Again, I am not being fussy or bitter, this is just the way things are sometimes...it is the same in business, sporting teams, etc. It is not exclusive to the church...but it happens there where the standard and expectation should be a little higher.

Same church many years ago... different times and choir directors. I think one generally remembers and loves the songs of their youth. :largehalo

I'm just ribbin ya Thad. Someone was shouting during the song somewhere near the end to scream. I don't know who it was who was saying it. Keep up the good work!
