Closed Thread Clarification

Would someone kindly tell me who or what justifies a thread to be "closed" and prevent further comments from being posted? Is it strictly controlled by Admin or can the author of the thread control open/closed threads? Explica por favor, gracias!

The question of the day.

Lots of "strange" things happening today.

Being Admin for over five years - there is always a reason. We as members don't have to always understand it either.

Best thing to do, is trust their judgment and move on.

Oh puhleeaze. I trust God. I don't trust unknown Admin people.

There's nothing unspiritual about being aware of change.... :shifty

And to Admin many of us are unknown, so they have that right.

Never said they didn't. It's their forum. Do what they will. We will respond however we feel is best. If that means leaving, if that means complying, if that means challenging and trying to influence that policy, if that means being good little boys and doing exactly as we are told.... we have that right :)

The only admin that I could never figure out was Boom (well, both him and Phillip Jones) who would ban me for sneezing too loud.

Phil wasn't ever an admin.

Boom was a hard one to figure out sometimes.

I know he wasn't, but when he took exception to something I said it meant a banning was soon to follow. So I assume he had quite a bit of behind the scenes pull.

I think being on the west coast was a disadvantage too. Seems like things would happen when there wasn't anyone else to "splain" things to him.

Ya, I was in Wisconsin so he was probably the only one online late at night when I was.

Well, honestly, I saw DA's thread and saw that it was closed. I wasn't looking to open a can of worms, as that neither was nor should ever be my (or anyone's) motive.

I'll just quietly back out from here and continue in the fellowship otherwise. :thumbsup

Threads that are opened just to ridicule or personally attack a member will most likely be closed. :winkgrin

I had at least one of my posts disappear, also.
It was a very sincere apology to DA.
Any reason that it would disappear?

AEGSM, times are changing at AFF. That's alright, they drive some of more frequent posters, they can go back to talking about the weather.

There's greener grass..

2 infractions in one day for me. New record.

No worries about me. As many times as I've wanted to dive in and tear someone a new hide (meant in good humor), sometimes it's been better to avoid it. Plus, I don't want to be a statistic of and suffer from CLOSED THREAD SYNDROME (again, meant in good humor)!!! :thumbsup
