Apostolic Singing Group on tonight's American Idol

It has been confirmed that Apostolic singing group, GB5, will be auditioning tonight on American Idol.

Should be fun to watch -- and to see if they are a primary feature on the final cut.

Aaron Michael, Mark and Jamie Gutierrez will be on tonight, but I think it's Aaron that sang. I remember that boy when he was baby.

Their dad gave me bible studies when these boys were babies and toddlers.

I guess Louie is over 29... and that's the AI age cut-off?

As far as I know it's always been 28, but some of the contestants turned 29 while taping.

This shouldn't be celebrated, this should be mourned. Yet another group of people with a precious apostolic heritage that are selling themselves out to the world. How sad.

OldPathsII & Kyle -- let's wait and see what they're going to sing tonight before we cast them out of the family. Thank you...:thumbsup

I think the Northboro Baptist Church meets on Fridays here, not Thursday! You may be lost? :heeheehee

Yeah, make sure they quote scripture in their song before you cast them into the lake.

Well, IDK about the "lake," but if we disown them, then they'll just go find another family who will love them regardless. :doh

I'll be watching in anticipation just because I love watching the show!

Just sayin'...

Ya, let's all hide in a compound and keep ourselves from being exposed to the world.

Sheesh!

Without knowing the content, how could you possible make such a judgement?

No thank you, I will not be watching that worldly garbage. Why do I need to watch to verify that they're looking to the worldly music industry for success? They're casting their pearls before swine.

Even without the context.

A person redeemed by God can't share enjoy the gifts they have, painting them on the canvas of the world, like nature does in one stroke?

We make these limitations all up. Not that you have done this, your post just happened to be where I'm saying this.

I can declare God's glory outside of saying "We declare your Glory."

Anyone who would ever sell themselves to the world, to a television show, is shaking hands with the devil. Do you really think a few minutes of fame on any television show is really worth the risk of bringing all the worldly influence that TV offers into your home? I turned my back on the world, no thanks.

Well, yes and by content, I did not just mean words to a song, but their performance and witness in general.

well yes and no I suppose. We did a Tv show, but it did not change the influence "the world" has in our lives today (four years later).

I do understand much of what Hollywood has to offer is not Christlike - on this we agree.

Nor is your neighbor's story. Your morning paper. Your novel. Your workplace. Your front door.

Christ dirtied himself with other people's stories, even when the Pharisees scrutinized himself for "bringing that trash into his home."

The Essene cave mentality kills me. We are in this world. I can hear it's stories, appreciate the art of it, laugh and enjoy it, it's not contaminated, I'M CONTAMINATED. I don't have to wear white gloves and a breathing mask over my face. I show how to be IN and not OF, not with walls and a cave, but by living life in a normal, everyday rhythms.

Yeah... they've never been successful, but I've seen trios and duets before.

I have yet to watch more then 60 seconds of AI. Just not my type of show. In fact, the only show we watch (DVRed so we can skip commercials) on any of the four big networks is The Mentalist.

I recall (this will give you a timeline of how Grace has come to me) thinking you were the scummiest liberal that ever walked in shoe leather... a compromiser that sold out his family. I recall hearing your story, oh yeah. It was like hearing you went Columbine or something.

Forgive me brother :)
