Full Compliance

AFF has been somewhat explicit about desiring to better enforcement the AFF rules of engagement, and have dutifully responded to flagged posts, inflammatory posts (ones they thought were inflammatory :) ), etc.

If we want to really be serious about this, it's time to edit our emoticons. Those things are worse than words! :lol

For example, there's the Big Baby, one of my personal faves to use for whiners:
:bigbaby

There's the violent emoticon :smack

There's the unkind "laughing at you" :laffatu

The condescending "pat" :dogpat

The sexually harrassing lovey ones :crazyluv

The annoying :annoymusic

The threatening :club :drawguns :boxing

The bitter :angry1

The biggoted anti-old people one :grumpy

Did I say threats already? :hurtyou

The rude :lalala

The scheming :evilglee

The gossipy :thad

The insensitive :crazy

The racist :girlfriend

and....
The idolatrous :santaclaus

Are you accusing the Forum of speaking out of both sides of their mouths??

If so, I agree with you.

As long as you don't use it in a sentence such as this:

'I think you are :crazy' you'll be fine. :icecream

You can use that smiley for many other various uses other than to mock or ridicule another member. :thumbsup

Ok, I consider myself highly skilled, in fact, an expert, in avoiding infractions. It took me a while but I figured it out. Since I figured out the name-calling/infraction game, I've only received the infractions I wanted. Here recently, I basically begged for one because I wanted to know if there was a change in the AFF climate (and learned there was). So, if I say, "You're an idiot", I'm going to get an infraction....well, unless I said it to Coadie. However, if I say, "Be careful, you're starting to sound like an idiot", I'm squeaky clean.

But I see here it's possible that I can actually add to my name-calling/insult arsenal. For example, if I say, "The Forum's obsession this week with taking away my ability to comment about the validity of baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is theologically irresponsible", I'm going to get an infraction.

BUT.....if I say, "I think the Forum's obsession this week with taking away my ability to comment about the validity of baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is theologically irresponsible", I'm off the hook?

I LOVE IT!! This could open up a while new world to me! :shockamoo

Hey it could be - depending on how small your world really is...

Your baptismal question is not off limits BTW, just needs to happen in the proper designated area. If I remember it was asked that you have that discussion in the debate area. So enjoy!

While I would agree with most of what you've learned. I should probably warn you that we do have a 'general forum disruption' clause that you could fall under if we see a lot of disrespect, mockery and ridicule.

Quoted from the Forum Rules:

Quote:

Because our goal is for AFF to be a place where Liberal, Moderate, and Conservatives can peacefully co-exist, Admin reserves the right to ban any member at any time should they agree that any member's posting style, general attitude, or overall presence is causing a disruption on the forum as a whole.
So you're not totally off the hook with that style of posting. :winkgrin

But of course, because I am so well loved by all the Admin, and well respected, and also because my posting style is almost always loving and kind, I haven't been disruptive! :) And I never mock. I'll disagree passionately but I hate mocking.

But hey, someone told me today, privately, that he's praying for me to be thrown off the forum. I feel pretty special!

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!!!!! You need to say, "As much as I THINK you don't like it!!!!" I like it just fine. I get bored when ya'll start talking about the snow, your grandkids, the color of your living room carpet, or what the price of gas is in Chattanooga. On the same token, if it were a free-for-all, there would be no creative challenges to be controversial while at the same time, obeying the rules! It's kinda like the Old Testament.....you could be as mean as you wanted, just obey the technical letter of the law. That's what happens here on the forum. Hey, there's a new name!!! www.oldtestamentforum.com

I like that!:lol

I would never defile myself by consuming one single ounce of caffeine, you heathen. Oh wait, I mean, "I THINK you're a heathen!":lol

And besides, my ADD meds don't allow any caffeine.

What are you a Puritan? Personally, I have had my fill of Pilgrim life.

15Then Peter said to Jesus, “Explain to us the parable that says people aren’t defiled by what they eat.”

16“Don’t you understand yet?” Jesus asked. 17“Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer. 18But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. 19For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. 20These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands will never defile you.”

You know, I literally have a WORLD of responsibility sitting on my shoulders today. It's probably fair to say I have more riding on the next few phone calls and emails than any other call or email of my life. So this is serving as a great distraction as I set here and wait. :)

This happy meal remark is why I stand by what I said to you privately. Of all those on this forum that disrespet the precious truth of the new birth, your the worst. I have no problem admitting that I hope your silenced.

Well, let's see - - there's a rule about not revealing what is said in private messages, but I guess it doesn't apply to this situation since YOU are the one that revealed it.

I think you need to smile awhile- - everything shouldn't be taken so seriously.
