If the Muslim Brotherhood is leading this revolt the West is in big trouble yet again. I hate to see what has been one of the most stable countries in the Middle East torn apart like this. I hope there are enough secular Muslims in Egypt to stop the Islamic extremist from gaining either official or defacto control.

The current Prez can't just leave until there's stable government behind him. Or this whole situation is worse.

My cousin sent me this clip. They have returned from Egypt. She contacted some of her friends that stayed behind and they are reporting that the old area they were in, Qatar, is quiet and that food is getting in somehow. She said time will only tell how this will turn out, that this has been brewing for years and the young people are sick of it.

Americans being evacuated. Been there, done that. I lived in Alexandria during the October 1973 war with Israel. It is worse, much worse now than it was then.

Feel bad for all those people.But if the Jihadis take over we gots all kinds of new and interesting problems.

Egypt is part of the old Persian empire and I believe one of the horns on the dagron's head. What else would you expect in these latter days.Wait till it starts here in America, which is not far off regrding the future.Then let us weep.

start with the oldest one first. some of the information is old but the basis here gives a good understanding of Iran.

you have to understand Iran to get what is happening in the rest of the middle east.

US government aid is defined as

the government of a rich nation taking money from its poor people
and giving it to the rich people in a poor nation.

With regard to Egypt, it was to pay off the Egyptian military and Sadat's government to keep them from making war with Israel ever again.

"Ever again" has lasted for 30 years, so far. Not too bad. I guess.

Of course Sadat was machine gunned to death by Muslim Brotherhood members within his own army for having made peace with Israel.
