Three things and Three people

Years ago I started a thread entitled three things where we said three nice things we appreciated about a poster. I would like to do that again on a little different note.

List three things you admire/like about three posters, one former, one current, and one that is in and out. What I mean by that, is they post, but just occassionally.

My first person I choose to highlight is a current poster that was gone for awhile and that is THE MRS.

1. She is the sweetest person I have met in a very long time. Always giving without asking for anything in return.
2. She is a great Admin and very computer literate!
3. If she lived near I would want to be her next best friend. A true woman of God that loves to speak well of others.

My second person I choose to highlight is a former poster known as the Coonskinner.

1. I loved how he would bring great thoughts from scripture to prove his points.
2. He could tell some of the funniest stories.
3. He loves his family and his church family. I miss Coonskinner a lot! I wish he would come back and join us with his wit.

My third person is someone that is in and out. I choose to highlight OneAccord.

1. I got to know OA when his wife was sick and he was here for support that the forum generously gave him.
2. I love how he writes his thoughts. He is an excellent writer.
3. I have met him in person and he is a very fine person. Someone that loves God and has great potential.

I hope there is someone you admire and can start the year with some good thoughts to help encourage someone. There are many more I admire and will add to my list later. But I would ask everyone to make each post only three people at a time.

May God bless each one with good thoughts of one another. Remember the Royal Law.

edit* Can be any 3 people you want to choose, doesn't have to be in the above suggested scenerio.

That's me, I'm always afraid of hurting the feelings of the people I don't mention. :D

I was the first to post on this thread this morning and it's gone. What's the deal?

Re: Three things and Three people

My problem is that I don't read all the threads, so I'm not sure who's on and off and who's gone.

Current: AQP and Hoovie. They have very balanced perspectives in the posts I've read, their posts are short but thought provoking, and they don't seem afraid to think outside OR inside the box. There've been a number of times that their posts have been an encouragement or given me something to think about for awhile and to learn from. I also appreciate Baron's posts. His legal knowledge offers a unique perspective and he seems to take everything in stride (he doesn't get ruffled easily).
Former: Steve Epley. I seriously doubt I would have stayed on the board for long if he hadn't been posting, and some of his posts were eye-opening, not for the rightness or wrongness of them, but because I was reading things in print that I'd heard preached and overlooked. Those posts gave me a chance to sit back and really think about and study some things.
In and out: I'm not sure who would be considered in and out, because I'm sure some who don't post everyday still read. So I'll go with Jim H, who when he says something really makes it count. Like others I appreciate, his posts are thought provoking, too the point, and tend to have a positive influence on my life or thoughts.

There are a lot of others I could say similar things about. Appreciate you all.

The deal is this is a thread saying "good" things about folks, not insulting.

Well, hey, these things are kind of like a popularity contest and that isn't always real nice. But I'll pick three people whose posts I always tune into:

Hoover
Digging4Truth
MissBrattified

There ya go. That doesn't mean I don't read a lot of other people and like them too. :)

It is not meant to be a popularity contest, but an opportunity to encourage someone.

I am reminded of a school teacher who had her class write something nice about each student in the room and turn it into her. She then took the list and listed each person what was said about them.

When one of her students was killed in action his mother found in his wallet his folded up list of all the nice things his peers had said about him. It meant so much to him he carried it with him everywhere he went.

People need to know people care. To say we can't say anything nice about anyone is to say we can't keep score in a game because we don't want to discourage the losing team.

Most people will be recognized by someone I feel sure. If not, it could be there don't post much and aren't well known yet.

Re: Three things and Three people

Timmy just because. :)

PO because she is funny, and yet so profound at times.

Coonskinner because he has a beautiful way with words, and makes me think.

Oh gimme a break, that wasn't insulting, it was funny and good-natured. If you think that was insulting, then you've had WAY too bad of a day. Can I offer some Cheerio's 'cause you need some cheering up!

And a little courtesy by letting me know what happened would be nice.

Hope your day gets better! :happydance
