Ok, lets talk about things that stand out, football and commercials.

One observation, the pre-game stuff goes on and on!

Somebody said that they messed up the songs, did they?

I wonder how many pastors mentioned the Superbowl in their sermon today?

I wonder how many UPC affirmation statement signing preachers are watching it right now?

Well I am not in the Org. I just told our church that I am not going to pretend that I don't want to watch it, I told them I like the commercials, LOL!

By "they" do you mean the singers? :coffee2

Christina Aquilera is never my favorite; I can't stand the overdone vocals. The girl from Glee sang "America the Beautiful"...*sigh* I won't even bother to critique that one.

So I guess that's ALL you ever do? Pray, read the Word and talk about God? Really?????? Never anything else for entertainment?

Oh sister, I'm greatly entertained by listening to sermon tapes, playing Bible Trivia, having sword drills with the family, and listening to good gospel music. Maybe you need Hollywood and the NFL to stay interested in life. I don't. No thank you.

That's funny! Sherri is one of the busiest people for God I know- she doesn't need those things for entertainment, nice try.

Wonder where Paul got all those sports analogies from?

Sitting in his living room doing sword drills with those scrolls I guess.

Justify your worldlyness however you like my friend. Why waste time with something so temporal and ungodly. My goodness.

Wow - you called me "sister". I'm flattered that you think I'm part of the family. LOL:thumbsup
The SuperBowl is on here in the hotel room, but I'm not even watching. I hate football. I'm doing some puzzles, reading and catching up online.

Another really bad scriptural interpretation. You can't possibly compare this worldly exhibition of the flesh with a footrace in bible times. Well, I guess you can if your wanting to justify your worldliness.

God isn't coming for a church that's busy, He's coming for one that's spotless!

Just trying to be positive. I work very hard to stay positive and it's not easy considering today I've come on an "Apostolic" forum and find people talking about worldly entertainment. Sad.

But I'm keeping my head up.

Ok, this made me laugh. I doubt if there is anyone on here who is SPOTLESS. We are all striving toward being Christ-like, but I don't think any of us has attained.

So that makes it ok??? So if I just get drunk once in a while, if I sleep around only occasionally, if I only rob banks during even-numbered years, I'll be fine?

Let me rephrase that, (although I don't think you will be satisfied with anything I say) Sherri does a lot for the kingdom and people of God, she has helped so many churches overseas-I know she has a prayer life...not just being busy.

I am sure she is spotless before God.

Watching the Superbowl is the same as Adultery and Drunkenness, Theft and Robbery?

Isn't there something in the book about righteous judgement?

Speak for yourself. But even if you're right, does that mean we shouldn't try? We're supposed to just give in because we don't think we're spotless? maybe I should just head down to the bar and get drunk as a skunk since I'm not spotless anyway.

"But we've cast out devils in your name, we've helped poor churches overseas" and He'll respond, "I never knew you." Don't try to impress God with your good deeds. He doesn't only want us to do things for Him, there are a few things He does NOT want us to do and the Body of Christ needs to spend more time thinking about that!
