Can your Iphone bring you closer to God?

Quote:

"As somebody who's heard thousands of confessions, there are some people who get so scared coming in that they lose their train of thought and they're not able to remember everything they planned to say," said the Rev. Dan Scheidt, pastor of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka, who advised the developers.

Heard this on the news - - the 10 Commandments are listed and you choose which one you disobeyed!

The iphone doesn't have enough memory to record all of the sins on OldPathsII list of sins. You'd need the iphone, ipod, ipad and an external 2 terrabite hard drive to keep up with all of the sins of the liberals on AFF according to OPII.

Where are you OldPathsII we need your input on this thread.

Hey, BT, what's a terrabite? Is that some new fangled way to describe eating dirt?

I don't know! I just heard someone say that. Ask some of the smart folks on AFF. They can tell us. :heeheehee I think it's a bunch of "gigs!" all put together?

I bet you RandyWayne could tell us. He's pretty smart. Well I don't know about the "pretty" but he is smart! lol

See, you were real smart yourself, but was just trying to be humble! It's hard ain't it!

Someone said you were humble and proud of it and you wrote a book on how you got that way. Is that true? :heeheehee

I'm pretty sure that one of Google's data centers wouldn't be big enough to hold all the sins of AFF posters according to OP2. And OP2, I'm just teasing with you! I think your heart is in the right spot.

Azzan, I don't know about the iphone but my ipad sure has helped me. I have my sermons there, my funeral messages and wedding ceremonies there and am about to the point I'm gonna have to ask the folks in my church to hold up their ipads instead of their Bibles. The only problem is that guy with the ear buds in his ears during my preaching???? Don't know what he's listening to!

I agree. The Ipad is a game changer. And I hate to admit that because I hate Apple even more than I do Microsoft.

Some schools are starting to use Ipads instead of regular text books.

Couple an Ipad with Google Docs (if you're not afraid of the cloud) and you've got the platform of the future.

I'm there! But, I'm with the Apple Me.com cloud! My ipad, my iphone and my MacBook Pro are all synced with the cloud. Change one and the other two change automatically.

Now if we could get a cloud from God and everyone sync to it..... boy that would be awesome wouldn't it. And I know there's an answer to this own the way..... someone's gonna say, "Oh, we have that cloud, it's the Holy Ghost!" Well, all I've got to say is there are some on AFF and other forums who must have had a hard disc crash! :icecream :foottap

Poor Catholics, confess on an IPhone and wait for absolution. All the priests must be busy.
Maybe they should just talk to Jesus.

What happens if the battery goes down before absolution?

There is one issue. The Resolution of Printed Text is much higher than the resolution of text on your monitor.

Some of us old techno dinosaurs have no issue with that "issue". I can hardly read my Droid anymore without my reading glasses.

I can't wait for those young smart alec engineers who build these cell phones and their operating systems with the tiny print to grow old and realize the struggles older folks go through. :icecream Ugh, I just realized that that last sentence makes me sound like an old grouchy person.

Have you seen the new Samsung Galaxy 5?

LOOOOOOOVVVEEE IT!!! :girlyluv

I have Verizon, so it's called a Fascinate. I think AT&T calls it something different too.

Two friends of mine that require reading glasses both loved it as well. They were very envious of how big the display screen is. Made their Blackberries look tiny. :heeheehee

Love, love, love the swype function. And no REALLY annoying auto-corrects. Or worse than annoying...downright embarrassing! LOL! :lol

So glad that you can have fun at my expense. I've chosen to follow the old paths, tried and true, they've worked for my forefathers, they'll work for me too. I've chosen to stay far away from the edge rather than seeing how close I can get without falling. Why do you fault me for that? Heaven is my goal no matter what the cost. The cost could never be too great and I could never give up anything that is greater than the reward!

Come on OldPathsII.... lighten up a bit. You can take all of us "liberals" to task and harp on us to your hearts content, but when we respond with a little "poking" at you you get all uptight! Lighten up!

I have no doubt that you are doing exactly what you think it will take to make it in. I just don't agree with all of your works and especially with your harsh attitudes to those who disagree with you.

By the way you never did respond to my post about how Jesus would have responded to you if you had brought to him the woman taken in the act of adultery.

I grew up in a church where the attitude was harsh and hateful too many times. I heard this statement made more than once.... Here goes, "You cigarette smoking, beer guzzling, short wearing, picture show going reprobates... you're all going straight to hell!" And maybe they were, but that was not a spirit of love manifested toward the sinner who needed God more than he needed a chewing out.

I mentioned earlier, you can take an old dog who is starving to death, his ribs are caved in and you can count every rib, and you can hit him in the face with a Tbone steak and he will run from the very thing that would have saved his life. Just my humble opinion ..... how we should not beat people to death with the gospel, standards, and man's opinions and beliefs.

Why do you automatically connect avoiding sinful things with a harsh and hateful attitude? Hell is harsh and hateful but no one wants to talk about that, do they? It's just us awful people who dare to proclaim a clear right and wrong.

If I had brought the woman in adultery to Jesus, I'm sure he would have responded exactly the way he did, just the same as if you had brought her to him. What's the point?

My point is if you did her like you do on this forum Jesus would probably have turned to you and asked you if you were free of sin. And if you were He'd have said, "go ahead Old PathsII and cast the first stone."

And believe me I have been around awhile myself and some of the harsh attitudes are from "the Old Path" of yesteryear. I certainly do not want to be disrespectful to you in any way. You may very well be my elder and if so I honor that. But I don't honor being harsh and hateful to someone that disagrees with me and declare that they are hell bound. The truth is no man knows who is or is not going to heaven or to hell but God.

And you speak about the Godhead, if we can call it that, and why we should be arguing about it. I just counted on this forum right now and I believe there are 5 different posts about the Godhead going on and none of them agree totally. Why is that? Why is it that so many OPentecostals can't really define what they believe about Oneness and certainly what they think they know about the Trinity? And the Trinity can't agree on every thing either? Wonder why that is? If it's a Heaven or Hell issue why doesn't the Bible make it much more simple where everybody can understand it without any question?

Love you "Old Timer!" And when we get to Heaven you'll have to apologize and said Been Thinkin you were right and I was wrong but God's Grace and Mercy were new everyday and I made it.

And of course if you're right in everything you have posted you won't have to worry about me being there will you? See you!

Been Thinkin
