I DO enjoy seeing these pictures. Especially after the sermon we heard last Sunday night. One of our Brazilian guests spoke about the ministry he is involved in in Sao Paola (I know that is not spelled right, is it?) to street children. I was sooooooo impressed with what they are doing, while at the same time so heart-broken by what these kids have to grow up with. It was wonderful to see all the children in your pictures.

If I had my life to live over some things I would do differently but I WOULD still be a missionary...

Am right now in a project of reaching out to children...oh...to have a million dollars...I think I could spend it all in one day on these lovely people down here...I LOVE them so much.

one of the things this man was telling us about, Sis Alvear, was that the government had allocated a huge amount of money for reaching out to these kids last year, but the vast majority of it went into the pockets of the politicians. So this guy gets elected to be the vice president of the group he's working with but he almost turned it down because it's a baptist group and he is an alliance person. but in the end he decided to go ahead and do it. And then he finds that because of his position, he is able to make friends with one of the key players politically in the group that handles the money to reach out to these kids. so he's believing that God has put him in this position just for that reason :)

Politicans are something else here...and where I live most of them have hitmen...lots of killings take place...

I will be praying for this group that is reaching out to street kids..There are millions of them...with no hope unless the church reaches them..Many of the things American sent for the flood victims ended up being sold on the black market...

One warehouse here in our city caught on fire (?) that was full of tents for the victims...
