Goodbye cruel world...
I always wanted to do one of those goodbye threads, even though I think they are foolish, so now is my chance!
Actually, I will be missing for a while, due to the storms we had in my part of the country, yesterday. Everything is ok with me and mine, but will be working like crazy helping those who are not ok. See ya'll when I can and say a prayer for us here in tornado alley. |

Re: Goodbye cruel world...
Oldperson76,
God be with you. Although I live in Middle Tennessee part of my job responsiblities involves a manufacturing facility in Huntsville, AL. For that reason I have been following the situation closely and Alabama is devastated. They are not expecting electricity to be restored in Huntsville for probably 3-4 days and maybe longer. 90 Tenn Valley transmission cables are down that supply power to North Alabama. Eight of those to Huntsville. Also the Browns Ferry nuclear power plant has gone into emergency shutdown. This is the same design as the plants in Japan except the diesal backup generators needed to cool the fuel rods are working in Alabama. |
Re: Goodbye cruel world...
Will be praying for all affected. Take care and be safe.

Re: Goodbye cruel world...
North Alabama was hit hard for sure.

Re: Goodbye cruel world...
Back for a few seconds.
This is beyond belief. As one who had friends and relatives in the OKC tornado in 1999, this is on the same scale. But with less awareness and warning, more deaths and injuries. Please, please find someway to help. And please pray for the victims, the volunteers and those working to help. |

We still have some family members unaccounted for due to phone lines down and you can't get into some of the heavy damaged areas. Which at least one of them live there. |
Re: Goodbye cruel world...
I've been working with the Red Cross, as well as trying to coordinate our companies relief service.
Now, also working with Compassion Services, from the UPCI. Busy, busy! |
Re: Goodbye cruel world...
aegsm76, I pray that in the relief effort, God would allow you to be encouraged and strengthened.

Re: Goodbye cruel world...
Back for a quick visit.
Two weeks after the storms, it is still a shock to drive through Tuscaloosa. God Bless |
