Hypnotism should be illegal!

Or heavily regulated! When are the liberals going to finally over-react and pass a law? God forbid this should ever happen to you

PORTLAND, England -- A British hypnotist's subjects were temporarily left in a trance when he was knocked unconscious during a show, the Dorset Echo reported Saturday.
David Days was performing a hypnotism demonstration Friday night in Portland, in the south of England, when he tripped over an audience member's leg and was knocked unconscious by the fall.
When he fell, Days was in the process of bringing three volunteers from the audience out of a hypnotic trance.

I don't think I can be hypnotized.

Why would anyone moreover a Christian, want to allow their mind to be fully opened to outside influence without the barrier of consciousness to control the influence? Hypnotism is a very dangerous gateway into the spirit realm.

I would not give ANYONE control over my mind except the Holy Spirit.

Isn't it a form of hypnosis when people allow pure unbridled emotionalism and mob think to control them during church service?

Yes. No different than someone getting up on a stool and inciting a crowd.

I dont know what "mob think" means.
As far as shouting...I'm not hypnotized when I praise God.

Define "Pure unbridled emotionalism" and "mob think"...it seems to me that people exaggerate such terms to be pejorative and beyond the scope of what really happens in a church service

Second, no THAT is not "hypnotism", though perhaps somewhere, someplace if someone is good at hypnotism and people are willing to be hypnotized he can make them do what appears to be emotional things

I make an intelligent choice to praise God...it may look crazy to you but-- I am fully aware of that. :) And this is to continue my earlier comment.

I have always been fascinated with hypnotism. Would love to see it in action.

I've seen a few different stage shows over the years. They are almost always hilarious but you also feel (sorta) bad for the volunteers after all the stuff the hypnotist puts them through for sake of laughs.

I am not sure why I need to define them. They sort of define themselves. I've been in countless services where pure emotionalism dictated what happened, although the camp services seemed to be the worst. It is what happens when the majority of people go nutz at every utterance the preacher makes no matter how completely devoid of content it may be. It is what happens when James Brown shouts "Oh I woke up this morning and I heard a certain sound!" and then the whole congregation erupts in song and dance or when a visiting evangelist screams "Oh I was GLAD when they SAID onto ME... I SAY, I was GLAD when they said onto ME, let us GOOOO into the HOUSE, I say let us GO, no stay with me here... I intend to start preaching! Ahhh ha! I said I WAS GLAD when they SAID onto ME, Let us GO into the HOUSE, ahhh haaaa, of the LORD aahhhaaaaaaa haaa haaa!" Now multiply that by 100x and you have a whole sermon that people will be talking about -that is until you ask them what he preached on and they will have no clue.

I started liking to go get my teeth cleaned. I even used it for ex-rays... I would tell them to stop turning it up when the perforated ceiling tile became one giant hole...

...then came the morning I went after a huge breakfast... and puked all over the place!

Well I am glad when I go into the house of the Lord...and if I want to give God praise for that, I don't see ANY problem with it. Hum...yeah, so have a great day!

I once worked with a man that thought Pentecostals were victims of mass hypnotism. Mass enthusiasm is not hypnotism.
