Question About Casey Anthony

Do you think it is a God-given duty for us as Christians to kill Casey Anthony since she has escaped the death penalty through the "not guilty" verdict in her recent trial?

I totally understand the right of the government to exercise the death penalty. I believe it works in a limited sort of way to deter evil.

Yet, if the death penalty was being considered I would excuse myself from the jury.

I have no interest whatsoever in dealing with Casey Anthony, I am not a part of the problem, nor a part of the solution. Bottom line, it is none of my life or business. I will let God and the Florida courts deal with his case.

The justice system worked ,i blame the prosecution, like the Roger Clemens prosecutors were idiots, these guys think they are GOD and are so arrogant/full of themselves, they never think they are wrong and only when dragged kicking and screaming to any evidence opposite of theirs, do they at least stop maintaning their innocence, but still don't admit they are wrong!!!.They remind me of liberals who think they are just smarter than everyone else. Ala the Duke Lacross Players prosecutor who was billed as a GOD fearing christain who wouldn't lie!. Can't imagine where she thinks she s gonna live ,i haven't read one column about this ,wanted no part of it ,and i know too much ,( and i'm on the opposite side of the country) i haven't talked to one person who doesn't think she is guilty and i deal with the public, she has gotten numerous death threats and they say she is gonna change her name ,but even if she does, isn't that public knowledge ? PS one porn company owner has already offered her a job,go figure!

Paul held the coats of those who killed christians.
Oh, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God is our judge, he passes out fair judgement to all. All sin, except blaspheme of the Holy Spirit is equal. To hate a person you have killed them.
To look at someone and want dream about them in bed - you have slept with that person.
Plus everybody under the law has certain rights. She is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. She was declared innocent so move on.
remember one word- forgive.
Moses and David also commited murder.

Rom 12:19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

Or as one of the jurors (no.3) said," we didn't say she was innocent, just that she wasn't guilty" Now do ya understand?

That's a scary question to ask, Sam. Why would you ask such a thing?

There are some serious sides to the discussion though... Should Christians be calling for "justice"? Should we be vocal or public on support of the death penalty?

Re: Question About Casey Anthony

I am just surprised at how many Christians are so hostile and angry over this case. It was a tragedy that the little girl died. It was a tragedy that no one was "caught." But in the end, no one really gets away with anything. We all stand before the judge that grants no parole. This is one of those "affairs of the world" that I don't think we should be expending so much energy on.

It is up to the prosecution to prove that the defendant is guilty beyond "reasonable doubt." In the opinion of the jurors (or of enough of the jurors to convince the others) this was not done.

I would imagine all the jurors believed Casey was responsible for the death of her child but it was not proven in court beyond "reasonable doubt" by the prosecution.

Re: Question About Casey Anthony

Casey is probably in the same position now that the fan (who 'interfered' with a catch that would have been an out) who screwed up the Cubs World Series chances is in. She/he will never be able to live a normal life again and never get another nights rest knowing what they did.

Then again, I wonder if Casey has ever felt any guilt. I know the Chicago Cubs fan has.

It does not matter what the jury says afterwards. if they really thought she was guilty why did they say, not guilty. if the jury failed then she is innocent by law.
the law says innocent until proven guilty.
satan says we are guilty, jesus removes the guilt.
i became a christian to have my past removed.
Only the evil one says we are guilty after the ruling.
This is a case which shows how Gods mercy works.
We do not get what we deserve- death.
Casey can be forgiven by God if she wants it.
Saul of Tarsus was forgiven for his part in a murder. Then saul became Paul and was one of the greatest missionaries of his time.
If you accept paul as saved then if casey got saved would you accept her?

to see what people here think.

Casey's lawyers have received threats and I've seen people on the news making threats. My personal opinion is that she probably had something to do with the child's death but it was not proven beyond reasonable doubt so we have to say that our justice system worked and let the whole thing go.

I doubt if there is any truth to the rumor that she will move in with her defense attorney (Diaz) and work as a nanny.

Re: Question About Casey Anthony

Wasn't David of Old Testament time also responsible (or at least his actions) for the death of a child? Yet he was a man after God's own heart! Sure he repented and God forgave him. So, I guess now we need to set up a court room to try Casey and see if she has repented. "The manipulator is now being manipulated!" Don't you think?

It seems to me that the prosecution "just did not prove their case... beyond a reasonable doubt!" And if you remember it didn't take the jury that long to come to that conclusion!

It's time to leave it in God's hands and stop the hatred! All the angry ones are getting out of this is "high blood pressure!"

One of her other lawyers was asked about Casey caring for her children or grandchildren but didn't give a clear answer
