Have you ever seen a miracle?
Gotta admit folks I don't think I've ever seen a true miracle. In the 12 years I've went to church, not once did I see a demon cast out, someone raise from the dead, or a healing. By healing I mean - cancer healed completely immediately without drugs, brain damage healed, AIDS healed, or someone with a true physical handicap made whole, etc. I've heard stories from other saints claiming someone split their head while running the aisles and God healed it instantly.
If you've seen a true, 100% miracle please tell your story! :) |
Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
I have seen Demons cast out. I have "seen" healings, without medical interventions, and aside from that the many other kinds of miracles like prophetic utterences, works of knowledge, visons and dreams

January 3, 1993. The Bills beating the Oilers, after being down 35-3.

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
I've certainly been around miracles, many involving ourselves (and non-health related -my whole life is one!) but as far as seeing a physical supernatural occurrence like a missing limb appear (NOT lengthened) where there wasn't one, someone being raised from the dead who was REALLY dead and not just clinically so for a few minutes, or someone blind suddenly able to see, no I have not.
I've seen hundreds of people say their back pain magically vanished though! |

Yes

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
I'm looking more for supernatural, divine, physical miracles.
I think most would agree that a healthy baby growing inside a woman from a double cell and being born is a miracle but it's something that happens everyday. |
Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
When my son was about 10, he had a growth come up on his shoulder. It was at night, we were home, getting ready to go to bed. He found the growth when he was putting his PJs on.
At that time I was praying and fasting and was just lost in Jesus, was walking close to God. We prayed and commanded the growth to fall off his body in Jesus name, and it did, and it never came back. We were so innocent and simple in those days. It makes me sad because I've become jaded and weary somehow, how I long to walk again in that simple faith. |
Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
Oh, and one time my son was on the playground. there was a kid about 5 years older then Jason and his friends and he would pick on the kids and they didn't stand a chance against him. He was like a Goliath to them
One day Jason came flying into the house praising God and yelling that the Lord had delivered him from the bully. He said he started to run from him calling on the name of Jesus, and the Bully almost caught him but the angel of the Lord tripped the bully and delivered him. Oh, I believe it. you may not, but I do. |

Yet, despite how awesome creation is many want to turn it into the equivalent of Jeanie (from I Dream Of Jeanie) folding her arms and bobbing her head up and down with a might bonk! and having everything appear as we see it today. |

I still wonder why there aren't more wondrous physical miracles to help prove the existence of an Almighty God, and encourage those low on faith. |

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
I've been involved in casting out demons, saw miracles and healings. Just came back from a native reserve in northern Manitoba where we cast out devils and saw many healings. Last fall we prayed for the pastor from there and he was delivered from bone cancer. I have the videos posted in the Canadian flavor section of this forum.

What about stories where a blind person with white eyes (or glass ones), sort of like the Blind Samurai gets prayed over and his vision returns along which the eyes turning a normal color? Or someone with a missing arm or leg who gets prayed over and grows a new limb? Or someone who has been dead beyond the normal definition of "clinical death" where they do not have a pulse for a few minutes and comes back to life? |

When casting out devils, the people always demonstratively react in coughing or vomiting, though. Also, I now recall praying for a girl who broke out in hives, and the hives instantly vanished.

Mat 17:20 And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there. And it shall move. And nothing shall be impossible to you. Mat 17:21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Rom 10:17 Then faith is of hearing, and hearing by the Word of God Jud 1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, Sadly this message has been replaced by a psuedo "magic" formula of uncut hair and incantations or invoking magic words. While I do believe whole heartedly on calling on the name of Jesus, it's our faith IN His name that is active, not the vocalization of the sounds Act 3:5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. Act 3:6 But Peter said, "I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!" Act 3:7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. Act 3:8 And leaping up he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. Act 3:16 And his name--by faith in his name--has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all. Many UPCs focus on works and standards and tongues as evidence but not on faith and the gifts of the Spirit. |

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
Forgot to mention that we prayed for 2 people at a native reserve who could not get around without a cane. Both dropped their canes and walked around with total ease after prayer. One of them hopped up and down and shouted for 45 minutes later. The other got up the next day and realized he did not take his cane as usual since his legs were fine.

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
Most seem to be unaware of the fact that the book of Acts is the acts of the Apostles. In that record it appears that only Apostles are seen doing the "sensational" type of miracles. An Apostle obviously will have a greater anointing than the average anointed saint.
I have a journal of things I consider to be signs or wonders the Lord has allowed me to experience in my walk. There are now over 100 of them. Most are dreams that have come to pass. There are some answered prayers. Some times of being led by the Spirit. The most notable healing was when a fellow I worked with hurt his back so bad he was ready to go home. I asked if I could pray for him. He said Ok so I laid hands on him and prayed and he was healed on the spot. He then went around the Shop telling everyone what had happened. |
Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
God doesn't have to give us "showy" miracles, but he gives us miracles anyway. We just don't always notice.

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
doesn't fly, cindy. THESE SIGNS SHALLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE... I think the problem is that we don't believe. 2000 yrs later and for the most part, the church is still laying the foundation and drinking milk.

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
Here is a major reason we dont see more than we do.
3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1 John 3:22 We have been taught keeping the commands of Jesus is legalism. Rather it is an expression of our love for Jesus that he will bear witness to by manifesting his reality in answered prayer. |
Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
Seems like IZZY has been going to the wrong church! Everywhere I go I see Miracles and have all my life - of course I go to churches that preach the Miracle Power of Jesus Christ. If I went to a church and they did not believe, teach & demonstrate the Miraculous and the Supernatural, I would leave and change churches.
Could someone point IZZY to a Church in his area that believes and demonstrates the Power of God? |
Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
these signs shall fallnw them that believe... NOT them that believe shall follow signs...

After Jesus prophesied that signs would follow them that believe, did it come to pass? It is not something we need to stress out over - and try to fulfill. If the word is spoken He will bring it to pass by the Spirit that works within. |

My brother Rob had leukemia. The doctors told my parents there was nothing they could do. Prayer was made, and the doctor said, "It was a Higher Power who saved your son!" Rob is yet alive and well tonight... 1979 Sis. Alice broke her back falling off a ladder, as I recall. Came to service for prayer. She was in such pain, they could barely get her out of the car. Someone pushed her wheelchair up to the front. Bro. Wilson was out of town that night, but the assistant pastor prayed, and I saw her leap from the chair, healed! She went to the restroom and had someone cut her out of the cast or brace or whatever it was. 1993 I was in a hurry getting ready for a district conference and fell UP a basement flight of stairs. Some friends were in the basement when it happened, and my god daughter, who was maybe 11 or 12 years old. My friends tell me that when I got up off the steps and turned around, they were afraid to tell me that my right shoulder had dropped way low, and there were dark circles under my eyes. Someone tried to put ice on my shoulder, but the pain was so intense I could not stand it. As they prepared to take me to the hospital, I said we should pray first. Eleanor sat next to me and gently put her hand on my shoulder. She did not pray a long prayer, but simply said, "Lord, you know we don't have time for this..." When she said those words, my shoulder popped back into place! My god daughter was across the room watching it all, and said that she heard it pop. We went to the conference and I have never been to the doctor because of a dislocated shoulder! :thumbsup |

In October 2002 my niece Sharon had Cat Scratch disease. It caused the retina to detach. Prayer was made, and the doctor at the U of M hospital in Dearborn, MI said her retina had suddenly reattached. He was amazed, and said, "Whatever you people are doing, don't stop!" |

Re: Have you ever seen a miracle?
What if miracles were commonplace, just part of everyday life, and universally accepted that God was behind them? Wake up with a headache? Pray, and it's gone. Lose an arm in an accident? Get it back again, good as new. What would life be like? Would there be a downside?
