Re: Dutchman Builds A Huge Replica of Noah's Ark
Thanks for posting. My husband was telling me he read it was being done, but I didn't know the details. Pretty cool for him!

I have to say that while impressive in one respect it is also completely wacky. Next we'll see someone recreating the Tower of Babel.

Re: Dutchman Builds A Huge Replica of Noah's Ark
Hmmmm.... me thinks the builder needs to read the blueprints. He appears to be grossly amiss in his feeble attempt to replicate the structure which God commanded Noah to build. Genesis 6:14-16 explicitly states there was to be only one(1) window & one(1) door.

Re: Dutchman Builds A Huge Replica of Noah's Ark
Fortunately for his passengers he didn't actually replicate "Noah's Ark" from the Bible Story. This "modern day ark" was constructed with a rigid steel framework and a partial steel hull.
An entirely wooden vessel made to the literal dimensions given in Genesis would be swamped and torn apart just by the wave action on the open sea. It's impossible to get a wooden vessel certified if it's over 300 feet. Wood isn't a rigid enough material across those lengths. |
