I am ashamed...
That:
Of the 16,704 people groups by country, 6,913 are still considered unreached. 9,791 people groups by country are not considered unreached, totaling 3,994,867,000 individuals, or about 59% of the world's population. Of the 16,704 total people groups, 6,913 are identified as unreached using Joshua Project criteria, totaling 2,828,672,000 individuals. Of these 6,913 groups, 5,907 are in 10/40 Window countries. That means 85% of all unreached people groups are in the 10/40 Window. 1,006 of the unreached groups are NOT in the 10/40 Window, totaling 78,997,000 individuals. These groups are relatively accessible to the Gospel. Of the 6,913 Unreached people groups, about 3,523 (51%) are small groups under 10,000 in population (or population unknown) and all these groups total less than 8,000,000 individuals. Of the remaining 3,390 unreached groups, about 1,314 are under 50,000 in population. That leaves 2,076 Unreached groups 50,000 and over in population. A vibrant church in a large group may take the gospel to a number of smaller satellite people groups that have ethnic similarities. (Joshua Project) |

How many languages have Scripture?
2,565. Of these, 457 have a complete Bible, another 1,211 have the New Testament. 897 others have at least one book of the Bible. How many languages still need translation? In addition to more than 1,500 active projects, work needs to begin in over 2,000 languages. How many people have no Scripture? Around 340 million speak these languages where translation still needs to begin. (Wycliffe) |
Re: I am ashamed...
Almost 2 billion people (27.9% of the world) are still essentially cut off from access to the Gospel. Many of these peoples live in major urban centers. Some are more remote and rural. All continue to be largely “ignored” by the Great Commission Christian world.
Less than 10% of the modern missionary workforce is focused on the least-evangelized peoples of the world.(Unreached People) |

Re: I am ashamed...
Jim Diehl, Nazarene general superintendent, speaking at the 1997 Nazarene General Assembly:
"The question before us is this: Is there enough passion in the soul of the church to carry this holiness message to the peoples of this world? Our problem is not with our profession, but with our passion. Our problem is not with our procedures, but with our passion. Our problem is not with our policy, but with our passion. Our problem is not with our purpose, but with our passion. Our problem is not with our programs , but with our passion. When it is all said and done: If we lose our passion, we lose our movement." |

You shall LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Put the FIRST COMMANDMENT back in first place in the teaching and preaching and PASSION will follow. If there is a better way to stir passion someone let me know. |

There is an interesting thing about this forum.
Whenever I log in, I see many people reading the forums as "guests" I'm pretty sure this forum is being read by people whose hearts are hungry to learn more and know more about Jesus. I would not doubt that God is using this forum to bring people farther along in their knowledge of Christ. I thank God for the burden of missionaries that takes them all over the world to reach people for Jesus. Some though are called to reach people right where they are. |

Re: I am ashamed...
Lovin it!!!
Elderest Epley is not ashamed, does that mean he is proud? Sis Alvear is ashamed, of those that are missing the boat. Hmmmmm, wonder which attitude God likes the best? Kinda reminds me of... God resisteth the proud but giveth grace to the humble. |

Re: I am ashamed...
I like the way this translation reads.. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity of cowardice of craven and cringing and fawning and fear – but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well balanced mind and discipline and self control” (2 Timothy 1:7Amp).

I waited for a long time for GOD to open that effectual DOOR for me. I felt HE was calling me but I just didn't know what. My family kept telling me, "You already have a ministry, the ministry of encouragement. My late father went to campmeeting in the mid-80's, purchased a tape by one of the special speakers. Dad had never bought me an individual tape before. The name of the message was, "The Church Needs Encouragers". Until around 2003-4, I didn't know how to turn a computer on. Didn't have one, didn't want one. My life had been so full with various duties, I was tired and felt as if I were on overload. I had also spent several years prior to this in intense Bible study and much time alone with God. Then one day my technology expert sons, not only gave me a computer, but set it up for me. believing their "aging" mother would enjoy it! Little did we know that God was setting us up! No, the effectual DOOR didn't come open for me, but a WINDOW ministry did. First Windows XP, then Windows 7. The opportunities are endless. My husband now owns a technology store. Computer sales and repair. It not only provides a nice retirement supplement, but has become a good place for him to witness. Each morning, he goes out the door to his place of business, and I go out my WINDOW, to pray, to witness, to teach, to encourage, whatever! Thank YOU, LORD. YOU knew just what we needed! AFF is but one of the places I go most days for my effectual WINDOW ministry!:happydance To be used of God to sing, to speak, to pray To be used of God to show someone the way I long so much to feel the touch of His consuming fire To be used of God is my desire Falla39 |
