Are you laying down your own life? Or taking that of someone else?

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:13

Human sacrifice was made for all of us.

I guess in order to answer this I have to ask if it will increase crop production or bring rain?

Does is count as a "sacrifice" if the victim doesn't stay dead? ;)

Sure! Death is death.

The way society is degenarating it would not be long before human sacrifices begin again.

you might think I am kidding, but look how far down the ladder we have gone.
we already have abortion which in really is a human sacrifice, pretty soon we will get infanticide, euthenasia, and the downhill slide will continue.

I hate slippery slope arguments. How many times have you lied? Does that mean you slipped further down by turning into a chronic liar or or a shoplifter or something else?

Abortion IS human sacrifice. It is primarily done to appease the god of this age - narcissistic love and worship of SELF.

Re: What do you think about human sacrifice?

Jesus said that evil people wil only become worse and worse and I happen to believe Jesus was telling the truth. People will not get better, but actually worse as the judgement day approaches.

Re: What do you think about human sacrifice?

To what end?

I think my opinion about human sacrifice varies greatly depending upon just whom, exactly, is to be sacrificed.

"Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die." - Mel Brooks

Some people will do anything for a laugh - anything - how else do you explain the Darwin Awards? No matter the cost, the Show Must Go On!

Unsurprisingly, I find that my view on this Very Important Subject is quite aligned with that of Winston Churchill:

"Although prepared for martyrdom, I preferred that it be postponed." - Sir Winston Churchill

I had in mind the kind of sacrifice that is intended to appease a deity (whether real or imagined).

Re: What do you think about human sacrifice?

I posted other and for this reason:

Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

There are many other verses that describe us as having sacrificed ourselves unto our Lord Jesus Christ and for the sake of the Gospel. In this only do I believe in human sacrifice. I hope that my post makes sense.

Do you have a burden for lost sinners? As long as their sins aren't too bad? :heeheehee
