That's the second major Oneness minister he has had in that position. Clint Brown being the first!

Is this true??

I do not see him fitting in musically at World Harvest!

StillStanding 05-16-2007 06:43 PM

I feel sorry for Mark! He should have talked with some friends of mine before he accepted the position. One of my friends is a FORMER music director for Rod Parsley! I'll give it a max of two years before he resigns!

Is there too much pressure to grind the right keys?

There is extreme pressure to get the congregation on its feet shockamooing every service! He'll get repromanded if it doesn't happen. Also he'll have to get used to 80+ hour work weeks!

A Vacation? hahahahahaha

That's interesting. I don't know the name. Was that before Clint?

I also think he'll have trouble working for RP. He just doesn't seem like he would be the most pleasant guy to work for or with. (Parsley, I mean)

He'll make big bucks, but I think he'll also have to work mega hard as well.

He will be not only responsible for the church choir, music, etc., but also the TV ministry and crusade music teams.

berkeley 05-16-2007 06:54 PM

you must always shock the moo!! the people watching the broadcast need to feel like their little chuch of 10 people is inadequate (sp)

Back about fifteen years ago Rod Parsley hired Jeff Switzer, an exUPCer, as his new music guy.

At the time Jeff was the music director at the World of Pentecost Church in Austin, TX.

Just before he was to move and take the job Jeff backed out. His dad was a UPC Pastor who was very upset at the prospect. That and other pressure caused Jeff to back out and stay at WOP but things were never the same once it was clear he was willing to leave and he ended up leaving anyway not too long later.

I think he was there after Clint Brown. I watched the program several times while Doug was there and he did an awesome job! Behind the scenes, the pressure and time commitments were taking a toll on his health and marriage.

You are correct. RP has a reputation as being hard to work for. Supposedly he works his people to death also.

I don't know if she is still there but I know for a long time there was a UPC lady from the area on his school staff at his Bible College.

I really like and appreciate MC's music.

However it is NOT shockamoo music!!

This is really perplexing. :hmmm

South of I 90 05-16-2007 07:02 PM

I could see MC fitting in at Christ Church, but not a World Harvest!

I agree. Unless RP is taking his church in a different direction. Don't think there is much chance of that happening.

I don't know if he was a MM or just part of the praise team, but Keith Dobbins (PAW) was with RP for a while.

If you insist on sticking songs in my head, can you come up with something by the Eagles or Chicago?
