Well, being sinless means being perfect. So the question is, are their degrees of imperfection? (By the way, I voted yes, there are "little" sins. There are nearly countless levels of grey between white and black -but anything less than white is "not white". Clear as mud?)

great place to say, that all my sins have been forgiven and God has been kind enough to say so, by the word of the Lord that came unto me.

Of course there are big sins and little sins.
Sin is classified as mortal and as venial.

Re: Are there little sins?

The word "sin" itself may be 3 letters long, thus making it a small word. But, there should never be a measure placed on how little or big sin is.

No matter how we justify what we've done wrong, if whatever it is goes directly against God's word, it's sin. Sin is sin...

But, something worth being reminded of: grace is grace. And God is God. He's our ultimate Judge of whom we all shall answer to, either sooner or later. If sin is repented of, we're forgiven no matter how "big" or "small" it is...

Why not? What's wrong with saying murder is worse than adultery, or stealing a car is worse than stealing a candy bar?

Well, Timmy, I'd say because, even as much as we profess our faith, we've become such a counter-Biblical world with our own definition of what sin is, let alone justifying what we've done.

I think social acceptability has crept into the picture a little too much. But, as I said before, God is the ultimate Judge. I'll let Him deal with sin according to His word, trust that He'll forgive when asked for it, and extend grace from there...

Re: Are there little sins?

Sins are symptoms. The real issue is nature.

Some might have fewer or less serious symptoms... but the disease is the very same disease as found in those with full blown very serious symptoms.

Infected? We all are. Let's put this disease into remission... obey Acts 2:38.

Standards and legalism only treat symptoms... not the disease.

A life full of the Spirit, lived through our freedom in Christ is the secret.

I voted. If the wages of sin is death,is sin viewed as big and little if the wage for sin is the same ?

MissBrattified 11-17-2011 02:49 PM

Re: Are there little sins?

How much sin does it take to deserve death? A little or a lot?

IMO, sin is sin, when it comes right down to the brass tacks. We've all sinned and we all deserve death because of it. We all share the common human condition of a sinful nature and we all need redemption.

That said, in the OT sins were not all created equal in regard to the punishment, and obviously some sins do carry greater natural consequences than others. (physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, etc.)

Re: Are there little sins?

All sin, no matter what you think of it, is big enough to not allow you to enter heaven.

All sin is distasteful to God. All sin has the same punishment, eternal death.

Isiah 1:18 tells us -
Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.
Though the be red like crimson, they shall be white as wool.

But Isiah 1:19 tells us how that will happen.
19 - If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;

However, Isiah 1:20 tells us what will happen if we do not. (See the correlation to the End-times when Christ Returns?)
20 - but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword;
for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

I broke the Tie with Lucky 7

God's numbers are 3 and 1.
He is 3 and He is 1.

For there are three that bear record in heaven,
the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:
and these three are one.
