Why haven't you guys been posting Christmas pictures, decor ideas, recipes like we do every year? I saw a few in the Cafe forum, but this used to be a fun time of the year for us all.

Here's my front door this year:

Never too early to teach my grandgirls about the true meaning of Christmas! I love this little manger scene that they can play with as they learn of baby Jesus! Thanks Fisher Price!

Here are 3 more.

Our place inside and out pretty much looks the same each year but this year we have the living room window boarded up.

I replaced the photo of him with a much higher quality one, but it broke the existing link in the process. Here is young Rocket again.

Love this nativity, Renda. Mylee, one of my little daycare girls was looking at my nativity the other day. She said, "Ok, there's Jesus's mom. Her name is Mary. But just who is is His dad REALLY?" So I told her that God is His father and that Joseph is kind of like His step-father. She looked at me really puzzled and said, "So you are telling me that Jesus is actually God?"

Bah, Humbug!!

I dream of a Christmas where it warmer than 50 degrees outside, the grass and leaves are green and growing, and I can stand outside and enjoy a very beautiful day in the yard or elsewhere with my family.

Re: Really! Where are the Christmas threads!

Ponche (Fruit Punch) from Guatemala

Ponche is a traditional fruit punch that is only made at Christmas time. Every family has their own recipe, but here’s the basic one that you can branch off of.
Makes 2 gallons
1.5 gallons water
2 lbs. sugar
1 fresh coconut, cut into small pieces
1 papaya, chopped
1 pineapple, chopped
6 apples, chopped
6 oranges, chopped
12 manzanilla (crabapples)
10 prunes, whole
1 bag raisins
1 cup dried fruits, assorted
5 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise
Mix everything in a large pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 1.5-2 hours. Ponche can be kept in the fridge for up to a week and simply reheated as necessary.

Warm fruit... sounds like it'd have laxative qualities.

The church billboard shows a worried Virgin Mary holding a positive pregnancy test:
