What's Your Theological Worldview?
Here's a rather quick online quiz: http://quizfarm.com/quizzes/Theology...cal-worldview/
What's Your Theological Worldview? And here are my results: You are a Reformed Evangelical. You take the Bible very seriously because it is God's Word. You most likely hold to TULIP and are skeptical about the possibilities of universal atonement or resistible grace. The most important thing the Church can do is make sure people hear how they can go to heaven when they die. Reformed Evangelical.................................... 86% (ahem... card-carrying Calvinist here ;) ) Evangelical Holiness / Wesleyan...................... 79% (reflects my upbringing) Neo-orthodox.......................................... .... 68% (what does that mean?) Emergent / Postmodern................................. 61% (whoa, am I that similar to Rob Bell?) Charismatic / Pentecostal.............................. 61% (surprised I did not score higher on this one) Fundamentalist.................................... ........ 54% (yes, I believe in a 6-day creation) Roman Catholic.......................................... .. 46% (ummm....Hail Mary??) Modern Liberal........................................... .. 32% (I believe in social justice) Classical Liberal........................................... . 21% (not really sure what the difference is) ************************ What are your results? |
Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
You Scored as Fundamentalist
You are a fundamentalist. You take the Bible as the foundation of your faith and read it very literally, and it shapes your worldview. Non-fundamentalist Christians have watered-down the Gospel in your view, and academic study of the Bible stops us from 'taking God at his word.' Science is opposed to faith, as it contradicts basic biblical truths. Fundamentalist 82% Reformed Evangelical 79% Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 75% Charismatic/Pentecostal 71% Neo orthodox 50% Classical Liberal 36% Emergent/Postmodern 36% Modern Liberal 29% Roman Catholic 0% Ha...quite interesting. |
Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
You Scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan
You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists. Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 89% Classical Liberal 75% Emergent/Postmodern 71% Reformed Evangelical 57% Charismatic/Pentecostal 54% Modern Liberal 50% Neo orthodox 46% Roman Catholic 39% Fundamentalist 36% Uh-oh... I am Mehodist! Time to change churches... hey, that one is right on the corner :) |
Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
hmm; the "disagree/agree" buttons won't button for me, dang.

Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
...believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit...
Ha! Mine would have said: You come from a Fundamentalist background, but early on recognized an infection, leading you to Life, more abundantly by following your dog. |
Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan

Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 100% Fundamentalist 75% Charismatic/Pentecostal 71% Reformed Evangelical 57% Classical Liberal 50% Emergent/Postmodern 46% Modern Liberal 36% Neo orthodox 32% Roman Catholic 11% John Wesley was a great man. I think the reason i scored lower in the Pentecostal section was because it typically contrasted the importance of experience to the Word. |

Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
I answered all the questions and hit continue and it just said calculating results forever... all night as a matter of fact.
Dunno. |
Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
The site is a bit glitchy; I didn't get the 5 radio boxes between "disagree" and "agree" the first couple visits--"calculating" only took less than a minute.

Quote:
[Total depravity] is the teaching that, as a consequence of the Fall of Man, every person born into the world is enslaved to the service of sin and, apart from the efficacious or prevenient grace of God, is utterly unable to choose to follow God or choose to accept salvation as it is offered. Here is what it does not mean (in my words): Total depravity does not mean that you are as bad as you possibly could be, or perform as many bad actions as you could possibly perform. Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
Considering that I was raised Roman Catholic, it is now last place in my life.
The quiz classifies me as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan...the Oneness crowd would laugh at that if they saw me. |

Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
I thought an anti- survey might be instructive: I did it from memory, so prolly not 100% anti-; but, if I strongly disagreed, we'll call that a 1, my answer became 5; a 2 became a 4, 3 stayed the same, and 4 and 5 became 2 and 1. I was pretty sure flipping so radically on a couple of the Qs would just invalidate the whole thing, but apparently not. This tells me that there are people who would actually have answered thus? Wow.
You Scored as Roman Catholic You are Roman Catholic. Church tradition and ecclesial authority are hugely important, and the most important part of worship for you is mass. As the Mother of God, Mary is important in your theology, and as the communion of saints includes the living and the dead, you can also ask the saints to intercede for you. That is to ask where did you hear what you have written? I have found that many deeply entrenched faith systems refuse to accept others. My present UPCI church being as guilty as my RCC family. Dogmas run deep and when one believes that incorrect theology will cause a loved one to burn in an eternal hell it is hard to just agree to disagree. Sadly. |
Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
read it slowly in tongue talking cadence... LOL
It's transliteration of the passage in Isaiah that mentions stammering lips, another tongue, rest, etc. |

These were the results after I reconsidered a few of my answers. Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 96% Charismatic/Pentecostal 75% Fundamentalist 71% Reformed Evangelical 50% Classical Liberal 36% Neo orthodox 32% Emergent/Postmodern 29% Modern Liberal 14% Roman Catholic 4% The problem that I can see is that Pentecostals are far stronger on the preached word of God than many/most Charismatics. This is a major point of division. Thus the quiz creates and automatic bias. Especially as I feel that much of the Emergent/Postmodern group has come from the Charismatic movement. There are reasons that the term 'charismatic' has left an unpleasant taste in the mouths of so many Pentecostals. That is why those questions are not actually applicable to most Pentecostals. Emotional/expressive worship is important to us, but in nearly equal importance is the preached Word. The test is not accurate in placing the Charismatics and Pentecostals in a single grouping. |
Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?
I'm sorry--I think you are making an important point here, but you seem to be replying to post #1, and I can't define "it," or "It's" in your post here, ty.
