What's Your Theological Worldview?

Here's a rather quick online quiz: http://quizfarm.com/quizzes/Theology...cal-worldview/

What's Your Theological Worldview?

And here are my results:

You are a Reformed Evangelical. You take the Bible very seriously because it is God's Word. You most likely hold to TULIP and are skeptical about the possibilities of universal atonement or resistible grace. The most important thing the Church can do is make sure people hear how they can go to heaven when they die.

Reformed Evangelical.................................... 86% (ahem... card-carrying Calvinist here ;) )

Evangelical Holiness / Wesleyan...................... 79% (reflects my upbringing)

Neo-orthodox.......................................... .... 68% (what does that mean?)

Emergent / Postmodern................................. 61% (whoa, am I that similar to Rob Bell?)

Charismatic / Pentecostal.............................. 61% (surprised I did not score higher on this one)

Fundamentalist.................................... ........ 54% (yes, I believe in a 6-day creation)

Roman Catholic.......................................... .. 46% (ummm....Hail Mary??)

Modern Liberal........................................... .. 32% (I believe in social justice)

Classical Liberal........................................... . 21% (not really sure what the difference is)

************************

What are your results?

Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?

You Scored as Fundamentalist
You are a fundamentalist. You take the Bible as the foundation of your faith and read it very literally, and it shapes your worldview. Non-fundamentalist Christians have watered-down the Gospel in your view, and academic study of the Bible stops us from 'taking God at his word.' Science is opposed to faith, as it contradicts basic biblical truths.

You Scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan

You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

John Wesley was a great man. I think the reason i scored lower in the Pentecostal section was because it typically contrasted the importance of experience to the Word.

In theological terms (according to Wikipedia), total depravity means this:

[Total depravity] is the teaching that, as a consequence of the Fall of Man, every person born into the world is enslaved to the service of sin and, apart from the efficacious or prevenient grace of God, is utterly unable to choose to follow God or choose to accept salvation as it is offered.

Here is what it does not mean (in my words):

Total depravity does not mean that you are as bad as you possibly could be, or perform as many bad actions as you could possibly perform.

See this link for more detailed info: http://www.monergism.com/thethreshol...depravity.html

Re: What's Your Theological Worldview?

I thought an anti- survey might be instructive: I did it from memory, so prolly not 100% anti-; but, if I strongly disagreed, we'll call that a 1, my answer became 5; a 2 became a 4, 3 stayed the same, and 4 and 5 became 2 and 1. I was pretty sure flipping so radically on a couple of the Qs would just invalidate the whole thing, but apparently not. This tells me that there are people who would actually have answered thus? Wow.

You Scored as Roman Catholic
You are Roman Catholic. Church tradition and ecclesial authority are hugely important, and the most important part of worship for you is mass. As the Mother of God, Mary is important in your theology, and as the communion of saints includes the living and the dead, you can also ask the saints to intercede for you.

You didn't ask, but I don't have anyone to talk to.

My RCC family did everything to discourage me. They mocked my faith when I was a teen. I stopped attending church for a few months and my family asked "why? we were so proud that you were attending church." uhhh okay... O.o

I'm ok. That was a long time ago. I am afraid to get old. I think I'm going to be one of those old guys that just talks and talks. AND for some reason this past year it seems like EVERYTHING triggers a memory from the past. It's weirding me out. I used to daydream all the time, used to.

Sorry to hear that. It seems to be the normal from those I have talked to and by my own experience. It wasn't a problem at first for me until my sister decided to start attending mass again. Then all of a sudden she wanted me to return to the RCC. My sister, who is now devout RCC, would mock tongues and interpretation. She has pretty much written me off and will not answer the phone when I try to call my elderly mother who lives with her.

I count it all for Christ.

Heh. Par for the course. Jesus said that this would happen in the last days. Family will be against one another.

My family is pretty much dysfunctional anyway. I'd rather hide under the Rock of Ages than to be thrown to the wolves by my family. :)

Interesting... Your personal tougue or another?
That is to ask where did you hear what you have written?

I have found that many deeply entrenched faith systems refuse to accept others. My present UPCI church being as guilty as my RCC family. Dogmas run deep and when one believes that incorrect theology will cause a loved one to burn in an eternal hell it is hard to just agree to disagree. Sadly.

The problem that I can see is that Pentecostals are far stronger on the preached word of God than many/most Charismatics. This is a major point of division. Thus the quiz creates and automatic bias. Especially as I feel that much of the Emergent/Postmodern group has come from the Charismatic movement. There are reasons that the term 'charismatic' has left an unpleasant taste in the mouths of so many Pentecostals. That is why those questions are not actually applicable to most Pentecostals. Emotional/expressive worship is important to us, but in nearly equal importance is the preached Word. The test is not accurate in placing the Charismatics and Pentecostals in a single grouping.
