In memory of a thread by the same name. Still believe unless a person has obeyed Acts 2:38 and believes in the absolute Oneness of God in Christ Jesus. You are lost. If you support a trinity church you are lost. NOT rejoicing but those are the facts.

I met someone today who swears that you are lost because you did not have the correct Hebrew name of Messiah spoken over you at baptism and someone else who believes that your baptism was only effective if you were baptized in a natural stream, creek, river or ocean and someone else who believes that if you do not follow the bible to only speak in tongues in the assembly when there is one to interpret that you are not controlled by the spirit of God but by 'another' spirit, which I believe is a nice way of saying you are possessed.

My point, Mr Epely, is that no doctrine, including yours, is perfect. And that NO MAN SHOULD MAKE IT HIS BUSINESS TO JUDGE ANOTHER MAN'S SOUL.

You may now step down from your lofty position of attempting to be God and rejoin us here on earth.

Salvation is a matter of how we respond to the truth we are given in the United Pentecostal Churches. Of course long skirts and no make up will help as well.

Can any of you folks read? The name of this forum is APOSTOLIC friends forum.
Apostolics teach repentance and the only valid water baptism is by immersion in Jesus Name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues.. So EVERYONE IS LOST who has not obeyed Acts 2:38.

Something interesting just occurred to me. There's a lot of talk of 3-step vs 1-step, but Epley's formula is more like a 4-step. To the 3 steps in Acts 2:38, he has added one more: believe "in the absolute Oneness of God in Christ Jesus." Of course, there are probably many more. He has had a lot to say about women's hair and dress, e.g. It would be nice if he'd post the complete list, ya know?

Any true Apostolic believes Jn.8:24 teaches if you do not believe Jesus is the Father you will die in your sins.
But these place you in the church and yes after being born in the church we have to please Him with our lifestyles. But lifestyles do NOT put us in the church on the new birth which is Acts 2:38 puts us in the church.

Why can't we be FRIENDS of Apostolics Forum? From where I sit - the Apostolics NEED some friends as they have run off many that were among them!
I really like the name Apostolic Alumni!

I wonder if Brother Epley or any of you UC brethren have ever preached any doctrine at all that you do not now preach? Is there something that you once preached AGAINST - maybe women shaving their legs/arm pits or the length of sleeves or listening to the radio.
I am not trying to be smart here but I really like Pastor Epley and I know he is a good man. I preached for 18 years most of the same things that he preaches. I am thankful for the GRACE and MERCY of God that led me away from all that.

I will confess there are things I have preached against that I no longer preach against. I do think we all have growth and maturity in our walk with Him. However that does not change the basic foundational message. That I have never moved from. Notice I did not mention standards that was added by those who want to change the discussion. Though I am not going there on this thread.
Acts 2:38 or lost is this thread. And yes I do appreciate you also and always have. I mentioned you on another forum yesterday as a friend. No I think compatibility in the same house would be hard.:happydance But nevertheless I do consider you a friend. In case GR reads this and put it on his wall of shame I have friends who are not Apostolic and it is none of your business.:thumbsup

Apostolic means to believe in the Apostles Doctrine.Yes Acts 2:38 is part of the Apostles doctrine,but so are this verses.
Rom. 10-8,9:That if thou shalt confess with the mouth the LORD JESUS,and shalt believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised HIM from the dead,thou shalt be saved.
John 3-16:I believe that we all know what that says.
1 John 4-14,15:Whosoever shall confess that JESUS is the son of GOD,GOD dwelleth in him,and he in GOD.
Now you said that we must believe that JESUS is GOD,(And yes i do believe that JESUS was GOD manifested in the flesh)But the Bible says that we must believe that JESUS is the Son of GOD to be saved.1 John 4-15;Acts 8-37:
I Baptize in the name of JESUS CHRIST,and i know that is the wright way to baptize,but i know according to the WORD of GOD that when we truley believe and repent then that is when we are saved.everything else we do is a fruit of our savlation.And if a person hears about baptism in JESUS name and rejects it then they will be held acountable for thier disobedience.
But people can only walk in what they know.

Well, AB is correct in that not all who claim to be "Apostolic" follow the Apostles Doctrine.

The RCC claims to be the "One Holy and Apostolic Church" and have a doctrine completely different from a true Biblical standpoint.

I am sure that everyone has their own definition of Apostolic but here is mine:
Apostolic - Believing, Living and Demonstrating what the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ did.
I spent almost 20 years in the "Apostolic" ministry and movement. It was RARE to see ANY demonstration of the Apostolic beyond water baptism in the name of Jesus and then it was done so many different ways and was not (and is not) consistent at all in wording. If we believe that the WORDS matter then it has to be uniform and ALL have to say the EXACT SAME THING. That has not and WILL NOT happen!
It was rare to see true REPENTANCE & DELIVERANCE, devils cast out, the nine gifts of the Spirit in operation, Operation of the Five Fold Ministry, a true love for The Lord Jesus Christ instead of just HIS NAME. The Power of God demonstrated in instant visible miracles, healings, signs, wonders and the Prophetic flowing in preaching and personal ministry.
It saddens me for I can see what the Apostolic Movement could be but sadly will never be because is is guided and driven by ego, elitism and sectarianism. The leaders walk in fear of man and will not sit down the false and lying prophets among them for fear of losing some control or popularity.
What the leadership and hierarchy cannot control they try to kill (murder their influence). It is a sad day in the Apostolic Movement that men lord over God's heritage and rule with corrupt political ambition.
I am thankful that I am not a part of it and left it 12 years ago.
