I Am So Excited!!!!

I just got the greatest news and I'm so excited and so thankful and right now I could :kiss my husband and if he was here I would .... lol ..... but it will have to wait until a little later. He definitely deserves that and more! ;) :D

As some of you know .... I don't have a drivers license and haven't had for several years now. I'd inadvertently let it expire when we were moving and everything was rather chaotic and a lot of upheaval going on.

Here in B.C. there's quite an involved procedure in getting to actually drive solo - a year at least from start to finish. I've been putting it off and putting it off.

My husband had applied for certification that I'd had a drivers license and that - no prob. THEN he mentioned that he thought he'd go a little further and see if there was any possibility at all that I could get my license here without having to go through the whole long drawn out process that new drivers have to do here. I told him that there was no sense that they'd never make an exception etc., etc., etc.

He said, "Oh well, it won't hurt to ask anyhow" and so he went ahead.

Well, he just called me and told me that he had very good news and told me that he found out that all I have to do is take the written test and and I can have my license (without all the other year long process) within a couple of months!! I'm so so so thankful and so glad and so excited! :bliss

So............ just wanted to share. There are several posters who know what a deal this has been for me to get going on getting my license and how I've been procrastinating, etc.

Great news for us both because it's been quite inconvenient with only one of us able to drive!!! and much much much thanks to my husband for pushing the issue.

Here ya go babe. :highfive

Thanks Scott! Yes, God is SO good!! And He's so AWESOMELY good to me!!! :)

Scott Hutchinson 05-18-2007 03:02 PM

The Bible says rejoice with them that rejoice and mourn with them that mourn.
I prefer the rejoicing but if you mourn I'll hang in there and mourn with you.

CC1 05-18-2007 03:04 PM

I am very happy for you but should we be happy for Toronto area drivers? LOL!!!

I think the Toronto area drivers are quite safe, it's the Vancouver area drivers who will need to be put on alert, as well as any moose thinking about crossing the highway. She totalled my car by hitting a moose while driving at 60 mph several years ago.

Ferd 05-18-2007 03:23 PM

GREAT NEWS!

it takes THREE YEARS to get a DL?????? wow! (that means I could have had a DL at 11... hee hee. I started driving at 8 on the farm.

Don't do this to us.

Anyhow, I send congrats... Have fun driving everywhere. Hope gas is cheaper there than here. It is almost $3.00 a gallon and this is the Oil capitol of the world.

Three stinkin' years! It's NUTS! I think it's because of all the immigrants who come here. That's my guess anyhow but 3 years is just crazy regardless.

I got my permit as soon as I turned 15 and had my license 6 months later. It's been a pain in the ... um .... derriere :heeheehee not having a license.

Now the next thing I need is my own car. Woohoo! I know exactly which one I'd like too!

:coolcar

StillStanding 05-18-2007 04:34 PM

Congrats, Felicity! I know you must be relieved! :yahoo

ChTatum 05-18-2007 05:14 PM

Tell your husband that you feel like a teenager again in a sultry, whispery voice...he'll like that. :D

Barb 05-18-2007 06:02 PM

I know what a deal it has been for you, sis...I am SO happy!!:thumbsup

tv1a 05-18-2007 06:56 PM

To every time there is a season, a time to laugh a time to mourn... I haven't figured out which I'm supposed to do in this case.... Anyway, congrats to Felicity joining the land of road rage.

Scott Hutchinson 05-18-2007 07:37 PM

Just think Felicity can drive and take TB and go parking.
They can park in a lover's lane spot somewhere.

I can still hardly believe it. LOL. I called and asked TB ..... were you talking to the people in BC? Or was it someone in NB who told you that?

I just still can hardly believe that it's going to be this simple. I'm so excited. I can't wait to start exploring because I love to go driving and find out where everything is myself. My husband doesn't usually care to do that but now I can and I'll be able to go shopping when and wherever I want.

This means ......... FREEDOM! :bliss

Hehe. :) ;)

You Americans need to quit whining about the price of gas. You still have the cheapest gas in the world except some of the Middle Eastern countries. I paid $4.91 a gallon the last time I gased up on Tuesday!

On the road again
Goin' places that she's never been
Seein' things that she may never see again,
And she can't wait to get on the road again.

Y'all need to hold the congrats for now. FIRST, she has to write a knowledge exam and take a road test! It's great though that she won't have to go through a three year graduated licensing process to get her license.

CAD I am sure. the USD/CAD is trading around 1.1035 or some such. so back that down and it will be close to what you paid in USD.
